Reports today that PSG are preparing a bid. Could be good or bad for us. They are the man city of France with shed loads of money but i can't see them wanting to pay much more than the 6m they sold him for. I agree about the problems fitting him into certain formations and if we got a bid of 15m+ id wish him l.uck and bid him farewell. two proper strikers in place.
They know they sold him cheap, he forced their hand. £15million and Tiene seems fair, they'll pay that, i'd rather he stayed and we buy the players to compliment his game, but money talks. Rumours are MON has anywhere between £10-20million, plus sales, lets base it on £10 million. Sess to PSG, £15million plus Tiene, left back sorted, £25 million in pot, plus say £6million extra for the camel chaser. £31 million. Cuellar - FREE Tiene - Sess deal Manu Fernandes - FREE Diame - FREE Peter Whittingham or Matty Phillips - £3-5million Fletcher - £7-9million That would strengthen us, give us more depth, and leave a huge amount in the pot, we could look at bringing in Abdellouae, Defoe someone like that for around £10-12million, and STILL have money for a top class CB (Samba if he can't deal with the racism issues). Money left, we can look at a RB, as we need an extra there.
Hope Mon reads this. Id like all the above. Big fan of Whittingham and Phillips. Wouldnt mind Snodgrass from Leeds. Can play all across the middle and they are only talking 1-2m for him
Snodgrass is a cracking player, really creative, he could definitely do a grand job for us. Lallana as well, but I doubt he'll leave Saint's just now, really tidy player. Bosingwa, we'd never pay the wages, I reckon he'll end up back in Portugal at one of the big 3.
There's a hell of a lot of talent in the Championship right now, it's a case of trying to get the right ones!
I hate the idea of Sessegnon moving on but if the lad wants to move back to PSG then good look to him If as you say we got 15m + Tienne which would be a decent deal IMO, 6m for Gyan and say 10m from Short there is the 31m you were talking about and I still think with the possibilities that Angeleri, McCartney, Richardson, Bramble or Kilgallon, and atleast 1 from Gardner, Vaughan and Meyler we can add another 5m to that so if MoN has around 36m at his disposal plus the adition of Tiene he could do wonders this transfer window and not forgetting Villa still owe us 6m. Personally I would love us to bring in... Marcus Hahneman - FREE ---- just been released from Everton, would be a good third choice GK now CG has gone Carlos Cuellar - FREE ---- ex MoN and would be a good squad addition Mohamad Diame - FREE ---- we are interested and would be great if we could get him, would add something different to our central midfield Manuel Fernandes - FREE ---- the lad is an outstanding player and would be amazing in the centre pulling the strings for us Matias Fernandez - 10m ---- I know MoNsMush u like this lad, would love him as Sess' replacement Adam Johnson - 12m ---- exactly what we need on the right and if he is open to the idea of joining then we need to go and get him Steven Fletcher - 7m ---- would be perfect for us, don't need to say anymore than that Gabby Agbonlahor - 8m (Villa owe us 6m) ---- the lad needs a change and MoN got the best out of him at Villa no reason he won't if he came John Guidetti - LOAN ---- MoN has been and watched him, hope it comes off his record is top class! still some change left over for a Jan bid for Samba? That is a hell of a lot of players and seems far to many but its seems as though thats going to be the case this summer and in my opinion if thats what we have to do to get the deadwood out and invest in quite a few new players then so be it. If got them the team I would go with would be ---------------- Mignolet ---------------- Bardsley -- O'Shea ---- Brown ---- Tienne ----- Fernandes --------- Colback ------- Johnson ------ Fernandez ------- McClean --------------- Fletcher ----------------- subs Cuellar Westwood Larsson Cattermole Diame Guidetti Agbonlahor
He's a top player like and for that reason, do you not feel you're judging a bit too quickly on the 'not being a wide player' thing...Obviously you'll watch far more of your own team than I do, but people said the exact same thing about Ben Arfa and in turn he upped his work levels and his defensive abilities 10 fold, its seen him become a far better player and regain his spot in the French squad - none of you think Sess could do the same thing? (obviously if he's going to leave, this becomes irrellevent!)
I don't have the same fears over Sessegnon leaving, or the concern. Yes on his day he is a fantastic player but I'd happily cash in on him to build a stronger and better squad and have 2 proper strikers, 2 pacy wingers and a couple of quality central midfielders.
