A merry Christmas ....YES.... to OLE G S ! I am one of those MAN Utd supporters who have had them on my Christmas card list since the 50's When OLE started playing for them he was the only player I ever followed other than Beckham .. used to get annoyed when he was just a sub and over joyed when he scored. ... ... especially off the bench!
I wish him a happy new year and although the results they have attained so far is against 2 of the poorest of teams in the prem I wish him and the team th success he deserves. Looking to the future I think "is he the man to take over from Fergie" ? There was talk about how they have tried top tried and tested and they didn't work managers, and should try a lesser mortal! [ bit like City really with Lee! ]
could OLE be the next 20 year manager of United? ................ I would like to think so, but ... any doubts revolve around him having to struggle a bit in the first few years, would the board stick by him? or indeed if there was a couple of lean years in the future would they say "come on OLE PULL YOUR PANTS UP WE DIDNT WIN ANYTHING LAST 2 YEARs " save a couple final defeats and placed 4th in the league>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Weird, but I've always been just Bristol City and never really followed anyone else, I did and still like watching other teams that play good football, but not calling myself a supporter........I see them as Bloody Glory hunters!!! :emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp

Strange thread for this subject to be on but there you go.

Man U's performances in their last two games, particularly the first against us, has nothing to do with OGS going there - far more to do with Miurinho not being there. OGS has been gifted with a squad of super quality players that wouldn't have failed to turn it on once the veil of Jose had been lifted.

Ole was like a kid in a sweetshop when he came to us to us. He just didn't have a bloody clue how to create an effective competing side from Malky's squad of average quality at best for the Prem, and added some poor Norwegian players that he thought were far better than they actually were. He has none of those problems at Man U except for the expectation levels demanded at the club to be met - and that could be the big problem.

This season is realistically gone for them now and if the players he already has continue to perform to their obvious ability, he'll have no trouble. The worry is he'll start tinkering and cock it up further after this initial surge of relief. Next season (if he gets the job) will be the real test starting from scratch. The two sides he's just beaten, us and Huddersfield may not be there to see it but Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal will be - it wont be any easier.

NOT a supporter, a supporter is one that goes to [ some / used to be most before maybe a circumstance like illness or geographical position/ family or lack of money ] games .. follower more like, interested in the team/aspect of .. probably even as a fan but would say fan is much like a follower [ follower and fan just a "interest ] ...
BCFC SINCE THE MID 50'S! ..... PROBABLY been to over 550 games and likely another 150 away? mostly late 60's 70's 80's .......
also been to a few games in Scotland ...60's and 70's
