Just from little articles I have seen gives the impression he is more of a coach then a manager that’s involved with everything. Be interesting to see if he is appointed how the transfers go guessing we will end up trying to pick up bargains. I think with Edward’s before they used to have good injury records so that’s something.
I don't know anything about either of them including their styles of play. It's just me going on looks alone. Absurd, I know.
The slot machine is now saying that managing Liverpool is a great opportunity for him. Sorry, it’s not about you. “I believe that Feyenoord will let me join Liverpool as it would be a massive step for me.” “There are negotiations ongoing between clubs, I’m here waiting… I’m happy at Feyenoord but Liverpool would be a fantastic opportunity for me.” Managing a club like Liverpool is a privilege and he should be saying how honoured he is that Liverpool have belief in him to carry on what Jurgen Klopp has created.
That’s exactly what he has said? It’s a huge step up for him because lfc is a bigger club than Feyenord…?
Decent win %. Work he did at the first club was very impressive apparently - similar to alonso and Emery. Took them from near relegation to pushing at the top of table in quick turnaround
They apparently sacked him because he was in talks with Feyenord about taking over - believe that’s what I read.
In the end folks none of these bits and bobs tell us what he can do with the type of player we will hand him, tell us about his character or approach and certainly don't tell us if he will throw players under the bus. Imo the first warning sign is any attempt to buy a player he has worked with before. If we see that we will have to buckle up and see out the storm as he won't last long. After thst we can only wait and see if it is him and then if he can create a squad and game plan capable of reaching the standard in the prem He has some big egos to deal with day 1. How he handled those and gets a team to play a system be be crucial.
One thing that has surprised me in the manager merry go round that Lijnders name hasnt been mentioned anywhere. I thought maybe someone would punt for him as he has learned from Klopp. If we do get Slot maybe Feyenoord would be a good place for Lijnders to start his own mangerial career.
He ruled himself out immediately after Klopp's announcement didn't he? That surprised me at the time as I thought he would be the most natural successor.
Yeah I wasn't just talking about us more the other jobs that are available like Barca (at the time) and Bayern. West ham could possibly be a good fit as it seems likely Moyes will be going in the summer.
Ah, ok - I misunderstood. There was talk of him going somewhere abroad I think, but I don't remember details.
