If Gerrard came in I’d bet on us for relegation. He’s that bad.

Some just can't let it go and stay on until they're a withered old husk like Woy. I don't wish that on him, but I did hope he'd see his contract out.
I do think there's a bit more to it than we're being told - or perhaps he's one of those people who do suddenly change their minds completely.

oh wow, this is a giant shock. Klopp has been phenomenal for you guys and even this year has rebuilt the carcass of your midfield and got the players playing.

As many has said, he understands the culture of the club and has become a part of the city, getting involved and putting his charm to good use.

    End of an era

Assistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos, will also vacate their positions at the end of the season,

I do wonder if this will coincide with a Salah exit for silly money……

I'm just speculating, but does that suggest a replacement is already lined up - someone with their own assistants to bring in?

As Klopp apparently told FSG in November he wanted to go they have obviously found a replacement for it to be announced now.

Alonso has a clause in his contract that he can leave if LFC, Real Madrid, or Bayern Munich come in for him so he must be favourite and will bring in his own team.

Gerrard or Mourinho would be a disaster!

They always want their own staff so it would make sense anyway.

That's what I'm saying, that it suggests a decision is already made - or at least is progressing. Like some others, I was expecting Pep to inherit the job. As Klopp isn't going to another club, he has no reason to take his staff with him.

I'm probably alone in being absolutely delighted linders is going too. The team is fine and all that but linders isn't up to this level. just is not without klopp.

Gerrard i really really hope is not even in anyone's thoughts. he'd be the equivalent of appointing roy keane at man utd or frank lampard at Chelsea

    Its all good folks.

Klopp get to leave on a relative high. even if we win nothing this side will almost certainly be top 4 or at least top 5 and should do well in the europa. If he win a couple of pots and has a great send off thats ideal. Its better for all to have a loved legend than a tarnish send off. For me that's perfect.

the next guy in has to change things his way and honestly there's plenty to do.

FSG had better get the right DoF in ASAP. All eyes should be on them and we should forget transfers this window now and just be wondering if FSG will show ambition here.

Apparently Klopp decided to leave when FSG told him Mbappe wasn't coming after all.

    Or Robben.
