A report by the Independent Monitoring Board in August 2024 found inmate numbers in the "cramped, squalid" prison had grown to 1,513. Foreign nationals make up about half the prison's population.

is this true of all UK prisons?
 
There are about 11,000 foreign criminals in our prisons which cost a fortune
Any competent government would get them deported freeing up space for British wrong ‘uns and saving the taxpayers money too

Amazing when you learn Tim Davie was a local Conservative party official in the 1990s, he served as the deputy chairman of the Hammersmith and Fulham Conservative party and unsuccessfully stood as a candidate in local elections.

This is what you get when you allow people in positions of influence, power and trust to bring their own ideology and agendas into play when they come to work, bearing in mind that no one in senior positions within the BBC seems to scrutinise what is being written or broadcast by their underlings.
All they’ve been doing is deliberately distorting the truth, whether it’s telling us that Hamas are just a bunch of misunderstood freedom fighters, or pushing the trans agenda, or supporting BLM when the rest of the people with half a brain could see it as just a scam.

For me, the same warped ideology goes for virtually all of the Department of Justice, Civil Service the Home Office and the Police who because of their leaders would rather police our thoughts then go after real criminals.

We also see it in the private sector where the likes of banks want customers to align to their own beliefs
How about just being a bank as a radical idea ?

The British public have no faith in the Government/state, the BBC or any number of institutions who should be supporting and protecting us, not lying and carrying out propaganda on their own terms.

This is a a major issue in our country and it’s been going on for years

The whole lot needs tearing down and we need to get people in who put the interests and of country and the truth first, as opposed to doing it from the angle of the Gaza Strip !!!!

How wonderful that we have President Trump on our side who can see what’s going on from across the pond.

The BBCs track record over recent decades with the likes of Saville, Huw Edward’s, BBC Arabic, BBC Verify makes them totally untrustworthy. The were clearly pro Democrat s in the last US election and seem anti Semitic

And best of all ? The Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy says she hasn’t seen the full editing of Trumps speech in the Panorama programme! Is that not her job when this news is over a week old ??

Keir Starmer jumped on a jet last week and headed to Brazil. A 12,000-mile round trip to a climate summit where he re-committed the UK to Carbon reduction targets that will further impoverish people in the UK - without making a blind bit of difference to global temperatures - and either collapse or relocate abroad our once world-leading manufacturing industries.

Starmer's obsession with net zero is putting a giant, self-inflicted nail in the coffin of UK PLC. Decarbonisation ultimately means deindustrialisation and dependency on China, and while other countries are finally waking up to that fact and turning their backs on this pseudo science, Starmer is digging in, even introducing climate change into the school curriculum to brainwash the next generation to his way of thinking, yet another disgraceful, socialist act of self-harm on this country.

There was absolutely no need for Starmer to go to COP30 in South America (other than to satisfy his endless self-important desire to strut around on the world stage). In fact, he'd have been well advised to stay away, but so desperate was he to duck out of Wednesday's PMQs - to avoid any questions on the growing problems of his making at home on immigration, prison escapees, rising unemployment and ministerial sleaze - that he fled the country to look important elsewhere because he doesn't back home.

Even the EU is watering down its Net Zero commitments, such as the ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars. No wonder no other countries at all signed up to Starmer's 'Clean Power Alliance' last week, in yet another humiliation for him.

We have already lost our primary steel making capability. Scotland has lost its only oil refinery and we are now set to lose our chemical industry. It's heartbreaking for the people losing their jobs, and a self-sabotage of our national interest.
How ironic that Labour used to be the party that championed heavy industry and the working-class, whereas now it's consigning those workers to the dole queue.
Harmer Starmer's legacy will not only be to have been the destroyer of manufacturing in the UK, but the person who finally broke once and for all the link between the Labour Party and working-class voters.

Except that the Home Office and local council in Crowbrough (Sussex) which is her constituency, want to reopen an old military training camp to house around 600 undocumented male illegals.

Suddenly she's complaining about it. saying it might not be safe for the locals to have people from all over the middle east and sub Saharan Africa roaming around the area. Well duh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to know what planet these bloody people live on, and if they actually have any principles that they ever stand by, or any sense of what the majority of the British people want !

trouble is they were not elected by a majority of the people
you cant really blame the people that voted [ lowest ever? pro rata population ]

But why has it taken them the best part of 2 years to figure out what normal people actually want ?

In opposition for 14 years, you’d think you have the best opportunity of knowing what’s needed on day 1, But no, these idiots start with a blank sheet of paper and proceed to piss off the majority of the British population in various ways

The Home Secretary’s ideas for curbing the seemingly endless stream of people who want to come to this country is a step in the right direction

However, the lunatic left of this already clearly divided and fractured party simply won’t allow common sense, and the will of the British people get in the way of their crackpot ideas of separating right from wrong
