The joke is that Labour can clearly see where they could save tens of billions of pounds such as being ruthless with Welfare payments and just ensuring that the most needy are actually looked after, which is what it was designed to do, not give out freebies to those who are a little anxious occasionally (which is part of being human, not a medical condition that deserves being paid for) but the backbenchers, all who are in fear of their own positions at the next election, won't allow it.

we have now got the equivalent of a city as big a Liverpool artificially having increased our population [ did a post some yonks ago on what was needed for just a city the size of Norwich/ Ipswich ] well that's where the water has gone ..... around 6 million people extra in the population that roots go back no more than 2/ 3 decades. we need a further 6 chew valley lakes in catchment areas that will collect water .. and that is only just a start.

not many people are in know with water management ... like why are so many sewage disposal works close to rivers? or near coasts! clue is most rivers flow into the sea! so water keeps sea levels up... lol

they are on chalk and the aquifers are quite deep plus they bear the brunt of the illegals....... and drinking water although easier to prepare it is in short supply... as the population is greater than the supply..............

if a group was formed to greet the border force boats and not just a few at docks but a couple 000's showing that the general populations attitude is "we dont want you" with banners and peaceful chants then a few might get the picture but hopefully moreso our sham of a .gov.

there is currently 2 political leaders of leaders of 2 main line countries totally having the pi$£ TAKEN OUT OF THEM and ignoring it one is currently the European mass murderer of EUROPE! WHOM IT IS RUMOURED has to start watching his back a bit more as more dissent is accumulating behind his back
 
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has called the economy's recent performance "disappointing" after figures showed it shrank unexpectedly in May.

The economy contracted by 0.1%, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said, after also shrinking in April.
The fall in economic output, which confounded analysts who had expected to see slight growth, was mainly driven by a drop in manufacturing, the ONS said, while retail sales were "very weak".
The weaker than expected figure adds pressure on the government which has made boosting economic growth a key priority.

The government has put a lot of emphasis on the UK being the fastest growing economy in the major G7 countries, with 0.7% growth in the first three months of the year outpacing that of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US. .................... HOWEVER this was a completely false set of figures because ............
During this period growth was boosted by exports as manufacturers raced to beat higher US import taxes, and as homebuyers rushed to complete purchases before the expiry of the stamp duty tax break.
But Friday's figures show that this first-quarter boost will be rather short-lived. and! note, would likely never have been had it not been for Donald's Tariff threats and the stamp duty expirations.

WELL the first week of year 2 and starts much like year 1 bad news really with economy [ bearing in mind that Labour claim the first 3 month's after July 4th 2024 is now of their doing! ] if take away the first 3 month's of their tenure decreasing interest rates/ decreasing inflation/ growing economy and start their year in October [ fiscal drag ] their record to purport is "fantastic" it is actually very poor down hill slide all the things 2 TIER NOT EVER HERE GRANNY HARMER shouts on about in PMQ's are not growth or better for the .gov purse and certainly the 4,000,0000 appointments is par for any NHS when compared to what should be doing done after the LAST.GOV had provided the funding and starting the NHS REVAMP ............ WHERE did the so called extra appointments come from ............. THE RESIDUE OF THE MULTI NHS DEPARTMENT STRIKES OF EARLY 2024 ........

so 1 week in and already close to 1000 known to have crossed the channel I say KNOWN as 100's make it which they do not report on the small boat crossing page! so thats the first £1.2 m [ £1,200,000 ] the "we are are not scrouger tax payers have to fork out

The multi-million pound project was first revealed back in early April and saw Bristol City’s community charity secure the future of the Filwood Playing Fields in a deal with national charity Fields In Trust and local football side Mendip Broadwalk FC.

Now, the Robins Foundation is to host a drop in session for local people to find out more about their plans with Mendip Broadwalk, ahead of a formal planning application being submitted later this year.
The plans are part of a wider Filwood regeneration project, boosted by £14 million from the previous Government’s Levelling Up programme.
People who live in Filwood and the wider Knowle West are being invited to the current pavilion tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon and evening to find out plans for a replacement one, along with a huge investment to create new sports facilities there.

“This engagement is an important part of the planning application process and gives local residents, community groups, and stakeholders the opportunity to view proposals, ask questions, and share feedback on the vision for Filwood,” said a Robins Foundation spokesperson.

wonder how long 2 TIER will take to claim this project started over 2 years ago! And already part funded by the last .GOV
 
Prices rose by more than expected in the year to June, pushing inflation to 3.6%, the highest it has been since January 2024.

Higher prices for food and clothing, air and rail fares - and a lower drop in fuel prices than this time last year - contributed to higher inflation, official figures show.
The rate at which prices increase matters to shoppers, whose money doesn't go as far if goods and services are becoming rapidly more expensive.
Inflation remains much higher than the Bank of England's target rate of 2%, but a cut in the cost of borrowing is still expected at next month's rate-setting meeting.

We can just sit back and luxuriate in more borrowing, taxing of pensions of those who actually work(ed) for a living and an ever increasing national debt
When reason and firm/decisive action and a bid for growth could stop a huge amount of unnecessary spending and borrowing
As usual, they’ll hit the white taxpayer in the wallet while the rest of the world and the lazy holiday here, permanently, at our expense
