What's with the fear of a President? If the Prime Minister became a President, life over there wouldn't go down the toilet. Crazy stuff.

Being yank born, and having spent vast tracts of my life over there, i know only too well what presidents are capable of, as i said in my earlier post, being bonkers seems to be the number one trait they look for in presidents the world over.

It was during Bush mk2's reign as master of all that is loony, that made me sell up over there and move here permanently (i have lived here in Britain for the majority of my 39 years), i personally find it quaint that we have a monarchy over here, it's not like she is doing us average Joe's any harm.

Just think of all the money in this country that is tied up in red tape due to greedy politicians and stupid quango's, it makes what her madge cost's us pale into insignificance.

Plus, and this is the best bit, we get an extra day off. <ok>

Would you say you want Anyone But England to win?

You know what? I'm not actually that bothered. I think with all the coverage of the Olympics and the inbred's jubilee there's hardly been any mention of England and the footy. Usually we get wall to wall coverage of England with pointless updates on the news every day (who can forget Beckham's metatarsal?) but that hasn't been the case this time.

I'm just looking forward to the football and hope it isn't an anti-climax like many of these tournaments usually are.

I find the Euros tend to be better than the World Cup for quality.

Aside from the fact that the build up has been replaced with all this Queenie and Olympic stuff it's been really refreshing to not be bombarded with updates on Gary Cahill's hamstring, Roy Hodgson's tactics, Wayne Rooney's state of mind and Glen Johnsons's bowel movements. I think it reflects the national mood that we won't be achieving much. Most Scottish and Welsh people I know don't really wish England bad but get sick and tired of the constant drivel in the media -a lot of English people actually feel the same!

I totally agree with you about just looking forward to the football. Some of the games could be crackers but equally they could be dull as dittchwater - hopefully it's the former.

Fair dues. I suppose all that hype could get a bit irritating. The spunkfest over Barcelona every year does my head in.

Well we popped open a bottle of bubby today watching the royal festivities. The pomp and ceremony makes me proud to be British. :D

God save the Queen.

Queenie's concert time...anyone think that 'thefaithwithnoname' has gone to Buckingham to rejoice?
