Yes mate, totally got him wrong. Everyone from the tea ladies at Finch Farm to board level have taken to him, he's charmed the entire club & has actually backed up the charm offensive with some tangible progress on the pitch. We're playing football that as a fan, is worth watching for more than just the result now, if that makes sense.
Rodgers did that too when he came in, got all the staff together and convinced them they were all an integral part of the club. Have to say it's good to have two good young managers in the city who seem to actually embrace the ethos of the clubs yet have shown they want to put their own stamp on things too.
Of course I have Billy, why do you think I referred to them as Donkeys Good player is Mata that deserves to be starting week in week out.. I'd take him in a heart beat if it was remotely possible, in our team he'd be ****ing deadly!
Sorry mate just brushing up on my fishing skills there I'm with you on Mata of course Think he's a top, top player and he'd suit our style down to the ground too.
The Media (Telly and Written) are full of ****e 98.19% of the time, the rest of the time they're on Ad breaks! The boy Barkley has the talent to be the best all round midfielder in the PL for years to come, if you guys don't need the money, keep him and build a team around him!
He's the best young central midfield prospect of his generation. Everyone around the game has known of his progress since he was 15. He'd have broken through much sooner had it not been for a double leg break that kept him out for a year & Moyes not trusting him on the big stage. After only having half a season in the first team he's now a cert to go to Brazil & is being raved about in the media every weekend. The lad has the lot, power, pace, genuinely 2 footed, he can shoot, pick a pass & beat a man. £30m would be laughed out of town.
awful isn't it... Clearly Barkley will go to City in the summer... EDIT: Tobes, genuine interest in this question - Why was Moyes so reluctant with young players at Everton, but so keen to play Januzaj at United? Was thinking this yesterday... does it say more about Moyes' desperation, United's lack of creativity or Januzaj's quality/maturity?
in an f'n heartbeat.. sturridge bertand and mata... they goe torres, benayoun and meireles off us... fair trade
I think the biggest compliment I can pay him, is that he's the closest thing to Gerrard in terms of his allround skillset, that I've seen mate. Albeit, he's got a long way to go yet, as his decision making is still pish at times.
Really interesting question that. I think it's probably because the lad plays out wide. Moyes played Barkley on the odd occasion on the flank, but it was patently obvious that he wasn't a wide player & that he needed to play inside or not at all. Moyes chose to not trust the lad in CM & he was playing Fellaini off the striker, so there was nowhere for him to play. Albeit he'd not even give him time off the bench when we were coasting! I think Januzaj would have featured far less, had Moyes desperation been less. Having said that, the lad does look a class act
From what I heard (this was before Moyes left) Stubbs got very frustrated with him for not playing Barkley. Soured the atmosphere between them apparently....could be bullshit but Stubbs must have seen the talent the lad had and how do you motivate the rest of the youth team if a player like him can't get a run of games in the 1st team.
I'll admit I wasn't aware of him until he broke into the team and also agree that he does look excellent, and the like others have said, has the aura of a Gerrard about him. However, he has only been on the big stage for a short period, and despite his potential, is still a risk. Many players supposedly the next big thing have not made it - or at least to the extent originally expected. I don't think you would get more than 30 at this stage in his career imo.
