Not really. I'm a vegetarian, I don't eat fish and I've never been fishing in my life. ps Nice edit by the way
With all the points made on this thread i'm now converted and believe all sports involving animal cruelty should be banned. I will be creating a petition to ban horse racing as it's cruel on the horses, fishing as we don't want to harm the fish, any sport involving either a leather ball or players wearing leather boots as that's cruel on the cows, any sport selling pies at half time containing meat and all motor sports as they're polluting the atmoshere melting the icecaps and killing the polar bears! I'm sure you will agree this in the only right thing to do
The whip's are used as a way of communicating with the horse, they are not used to hurt the horse, hence they don't leave a mark. The horse is trained to speed up when he is being whipped
He didn't make his living from horseracing he was a amateur ie he did it for his love of horseriding and the animals in general
I'm sure they do love the horses and I don't have a problem with horse racing per se. I used to enjoy the odd bet. But some of the jump racing is a bit brutal. I've seen Beechers Brook up close and it verges on the sadistic.
I'm not saying ban it, however, it is still cruel. Don't disagree with me again, its not worth the trouble.
Furthermore, I am into cruelty-free fishing these days: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/133148-Official-Hitchin-Town-FC-Watersports-Thread
No. It's not unusual for people who hate humans to love animals. See dog loving vegetarian Mr A Hitler.
