Assuming Stephan plays a 4-4-2 in our oppening game and before any new arrivals:

Frey Kelman
Chair Field Varane Smyth
Brazilian JCS Morrisson Dunne
Nardi

Cook and Celar the only obvious ommisions!

Thoughts?

Vale is missing

Vale is predominantly left footed and likes to play further up the wing. I recall that dickhead joey Barton comparing him to Ashley cole. I'm guessing a fit Vale will start at left back. I'm just hoping he's not another JCSicknote

I too hope he can bridge the gap between League 1 and the Championship, it would be brilliant to see him hit top form. I feel playing off Frey will benefit him

Really hoping Kelman comes good this season. 23 goals last season - if he wasn’t already ours I’d be thinking he’s the kind of player we should be looking at
My thoughts too. He wouldn't stand a chance in the set up that Marti employed, then again, not many strikers in world football would.

Does Chair fit into a 4-4-2? I can see him being largely ineffective on the left hand side of a 4, unless he really has license to roam. Can't see Vale being the most defensive of left backs either...so those two on the same side might cause us a headache. Or lead to some interesting 5-4 / 4-5 scorelines.

I sincerely hope Vale isn't the most defensive of left backs. Too many teams are more bothered about not losing over trying to win. We were guilty of that so much last season. It became so boring.
