We arnt going to agree its clear.

Also that was before the game as after you will see that I said he was playing quite well. Like I said that was not the German national team so I do not know if it was improvement over previous games. We shall see on Friday when they play Jamaica. I also do not care how old you are or how long you have been following the team. Neither has anything to do with how a player plays on the field. Yea he probably was better than any other 19 year old but I dont know what the **** that has to do with anything. He ddint look good for us, his age has nothing to do with anything. A 3 year old messi isnt good because one day he became a 25 year old messi, what counts is what a player does on the pitch and if you think Altidore was good for us for ****s sake you should go back and watch some games he played in. He did real well in the mls he has done real well at AZ and he did real well for a few year stretch for the USMNT. He has not played well for the USMNT in a long time excluding today. But to think that he has proved how quality he is seems ridiculous. You might as well think that Pro is awesome because he was a top goal scorer in a league that is clearly not up to English standards.

Unlike you mate...who's involvement with "soccer' has probably not gone beyond coaching a group of 8-year olds in AYSO ...I was actually at several of the games that Jozy played for us in the Prem as a 19 year old. You have no clue how he played for us do you for ****s sake...name one live game you were at. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain, which clearly you don't have, that he was an extraordinary raw talent and we are now seeing the evidence of that. He commanded the highest fee ever of any American player transferred to a European club at the age of 18. He has been first choice striker for the USMNT since then...despite your ridiculous claims...based on your so-called "inside information' that Klinsmann didnt like him. You obviously are clueless about the game in general, Hull City, and Jozy in particular and why you are on this board I have no idea.

Look I think it is really cool that you are an old grumpy **** stick. I like it when you tell me how you have been watching us play since WWII and how anyone who does not have your years of faithful service to Citys opinions are less valid than yours. I also like the fact that you find it necessary to critizise everything I say. Much like all the old 80 year old ****s who drive 10 miles an hour down the road I am sure that you are a pleasure to be around. As I am just going to block your old ****ing ass after this post as you are not worth me getting upset over. Not that it will matter much as a hospice cant be more than a year or two away for you. Go **** yourself.

He is blocked. Im tired of him, he was tired of me the day I signed up as this is about the 3rd or 4th time he has made some sort of comment about how I am not a true fan, or you cant be a real fan of his quality unless you have been watching the team since blah blah. Or the time he went off on all your expatriates who do not go back to as many games as he does. I am an asshole that I know for sure, but he is also an asshole and as we are not the same age and do not live on the same block there is no way to resolve the mutual dislike. So rather than annoy everyone every time its best to just eliminate him from my screen as I would suggest he do to me appearing on his screen.

According to my husband this is child's play compared with the stoush which CanadaTiger had with TigerRoo on another forum during Altidore's time at the Tigers and beyond. Went toe to toe for month after month with relentless regularity.
TigerRoo started attending matches 2 years before Canada too.

Actually he didn't Mrs BMB...not sure where you got that from. Laurie and I started going to City games the same year...1948. We were both denizens of the Well. Born a month apart. Laurie (Tiger Roo) at least knew what he was talking about although unlike me he hadn't had the opportunity to watch Altidore play in person and as indicated in his earlier post on this thread he is now more in agreement with my assessment of Jozy. And FYI we are good mates as you might have noticed from our conversations on the other board.

As for this Ellewoods idiot...who still hasnt answered my question if he has actually ever attended a Tigers game and saw Jozy play in the Prem...he's not worth arguing with. He claimed some months ago on here to have some apparently inside information that Klinsmann had banished him to the bench and that he was now the US third choice striker behind...of all people... Eddie Johnson ffs and some other MLS player. I decided to take issue with what was clearly a ridiculous assessment. Apparently that qualifies me as an "asshole".

To the best of my recollection I have only disagreed twice with his posts on here...both about Altidore. As for going off on expatriates the only ones I know on here are Roo, Dan Kelly, and Mrs BMB and I have never sounded off on any of them.

Well how about a friendly charity bet then. I did pay you 250 quid in 2010 so a chance for me to get it back. Before committing I should advise you that TigerRoo and my husband went to the same High School,1year apart, for 5 years and have had many conversations relating to post WW2 Tigers experiences. Also I can supply written proof that he first started watching Hull City play in 1946. So how much will you wager?

LOL...You obviously know the correct answer Mrs BMB so i'll concede you are correct. Maybe we can make a bet sometime where the answer is not already known.

Every Premier League game can be watched live outside the UK(in many places), you don't actually have to go to every game to have an opinion on a player.

Though as it happens, I was at every game Jozy every played for us, so I win.

Jozy was a victim of circumstances when he came to us as a 19 year old. A sensation in the Mickey Mouse League he went to Spain but was quickly found to be totally out of his depth at that level. He was quickly loaned out to a second tier Spanish Club (where he injured his toe and didn't play I believe) before coming to us. My complaint was that his fans in the USA who swarmed the "Vital Hull" Boards kept 'bigging him up' and used every excuse known to man to excuse his lack of goals. I joined the "Big Soccer" boards in the USA and tried to explain to them that the kid had to learn to crawl before he could walk and needed a huge amount of coaching on his left side game, heading ability and finding the extra space. For this I had my beloved Tigers described as a **** club with **** players and that if Jozy played for Manchester united, Barcelona or Real Madrid he would get the supply he needed to score goals. When I queried why he hadn't done this in his 9 games in Spain (for one goal) I was told that they were **** too and they promptly banned me.
As I have said in another post, Jozy was a disaster at Bursaspor but 'got down and dirty' at AZ Alkmaar and did some bloody hard yards to develop his game. This has resulted in a 30+ goal scoring season for him where he has scored almost equally with either foot, his head and now finds the empty space to operate in.
It remains to be seen if he can repeat next season with AZ or go on to bigger and brighter deeds with Schalke in the Bundesliga.

Jozy was better than shearer was in his prime, he was just unlucky to be feeding off scraps in a **** team. Give him some service he'd have been a monster.

Jozy is more than good enough to be a PL quality player and now his personal problems are over he would excell. The problem with some people on here is that they are quick to judge and dont make allowances. They are the type of people who would knock Messi if we had him and he failed to score goals. Sad but true.

Spot on. Jozy did well with all that he had to contend with that season. He is a handful "end of" for any defender and at the right price would be worth having back. But i think he is off the La Liga next season now.

For a start he had family killed in the 2009 tsunami as well as many trips back and forth to the USA for starters which took much out of him. His performances against Bolton and Manchester City that season showed what he could do and its a shame that other issues took over. Sadly some on here dont allow for such things.

Both would be nice to have for next season. Jozy has had a great season for AZ Alkmar and he looked sharp against the germans last night. A team i would suggest that are better than most we shall face next season. <laugh>

He is BFT. No doubting that. <cool>

No you dont. You rate Matt Kilgallon so that ruins your claim. <ok>

To be honest, I saw nearly all the games he played in bar, annoyingly, the game against Manchester City. He always looked comfortable on the ball and you could tell he was going to be a top player. You only have to look at the players we brought in and the set up we had in the PL to realize that we were never going to get the best out of anybody. I admit that there was a period at the beginning of his loan spell that I thought he was going to be the next Freddy Adu, but his hold up play was excellent and he had the right attitude for a professional (something which a lot of American players seem to have). I'd have him back and at £4m, I'd hope SB was at least monitoring the situation.
The Erdevise is a great league and it's only a stones throw away, so we really should be looking at some of the talent there. Barry Maguire springs to mind, great little midfielder.
