Totally agree BCC - but dealing with the media is part and parcel of a modern managers job. The public perception of NP may not have been what it should have been, but some of his interviews were downright awful and bordering on being rude.
Anyone remember the best manager in the world giving a press conference and the entire assembled media getting up and walking out?
So No.1 on the criteria for the Hull City job should be Media Friendly? BMC I'm with you on this one, who cares how our manager answers questions, if the results are coming, I really cannot see how it matters
"...something not being quite right internally at the club..." no sh 1 t sherlock. we are £45 million in debt!
I imagine he's right, the Allams will almost certainly have their cash injection down as a loan to the club that can be recalled at any time.
We've no idea if they've put the money in as cash, or as a loan, but as there isn't anywhere near enough assets in the club to cover the debt, there's no issue, as they can't call it in.
Adam Pearson said that what the Allams did made no business sense, so unless he is lying, the debt has been paid. Was Adam Pearson lying?
This is an extract from BBC web site link below The father and son team succeed Russell Bartlett, and have provided a cash injection of £30m with a further £10m in personal guarantees. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/9260836.stm
According to Blunderside:- After WJ turned down job it was offered to NB. NB asked that it would only be initially as acting, with a view to permanent. Now expecting a senior coach to join midweek to help out. It's Nicky's job, now needs backroom staff to help him out.
That would be stupid though from their part. Give a £40m free lump sum when they could be voted out the following week? I dont think so. They'll want some kind of security.
I'm pleased it's not Warren Joyce..he has a great standing with Hull City fans thanks to the great escape season...IF he came here and failed then his status as a legend would have gone down the pan ...No idea who we will get...
Nick Barmby is a top player, but surely he needs time to get his coaches badges and learn the role? That was what was happening under NP.... sounds a bit like giving the top job to Martin Johnson at rugby and look what happened there. Too much sentimentality on these boards, coaches need to learn their trade, NB may well prove to be a good coach, but he needs distance between him and the other players first. I hope AP is still pulling the strings here. Sean O'Driscoll, or someone not mentioned so far would be preferable. I expect Steve McClaren was too expensive and the Allams need to get someone reasonably priced, but I fear that it could be a false economy here. UTT!
