No idea. I only heard a second hand account of his interview but I did think it was odd. I remember in Parkinsons day they set up this idea of a 'development squad' between the juniors and first team who trained separately to both. I've always thought that must hamper their development as opposed to training with the pros. Sam Clucas said that when he first came here he assumed the likes of Luer and Dixon were first teamers with a few years' experience. Yet we still treat them like they're under 16s.
I never understood why we had separate training facilities for all the various age groups, I'm sure most clubs have a single training facility for everyone. We now have the rather bizarre situation, where the academy lads have better facilities than the first team.
It was tongue in cheek, but sadly for Conor, I think it's also true, I don't expect him to play for City and I expect him to move on in the summer.
