I wouldn’t drop Jones purely because he is capable of producing a bit of magic from nothing. Power, Scowen etc though I would be happy to never see them pull on the shirt again.

Lots of the attackers are capable of that moment of magic. They haven't produced though and look woefully out of form. Need legs in team and fast.

I thought Jones was ****ing ****e last night along with 5-6 others. Apart from one bit of decent skill he was mostly anonymous.

Wasn’t he subbed off for Leadbitter? One of the most pathetic management decisions I’ve ever seen was him bringing Diamond on in the 91st minute. No excuse for that.

Diamond should have been on much earlier imo. By that point i'd pretty much lost interest in what the 11 knackers out there were doing.

Sunderland could be set to lose one of the stars of their youth team in Josh Hawkes, TEAMtalk understands. Hawkes had Premier League interest last summer and also rejected a move to Portugal with Sporting Braga. Now, he is set to move on again with interest very high. And TEAMtalk can reveal that his next move could very well take him to the capital as it is West Ham and Crystal Palace, who he will face in the Premier League 2 Division 2 play-off final, who are leading the chase. Leeds and Newcastle, who were very keen on Hawkes last year, also remain interested. The Premier League pair could yet make a move for the highly-regarded midfielder, who has one year left on the deal he signed last summer.

Sounds like someone who would have been good enough for the odd run out in league one. Hope we keep him.

That was a brilliant time. 3 quality players right down the spine of our team.

Having Obrien on the bench was simply pointless. I could have been more effective and I'm old slow and can't play so similar to half our squad! Hawkes should have been on bench. Hope he stays as can get in our team next season imo and be a potential star. Need to extend contract first though

And yet he very nearly scored! Or did you miss that part?

Well he hit it straight at the keeper. Not really anything to brag about.

Think the point I was making was that he got through and got a shot on target. More than anyone else did second half that I can remember!

I actually think all the forwards look better playing off Ross than Charlie. If they don't beat their man and then the ball isn't perfect Wyke wont get onto it

The Plymouth game showed how we could build attacks through Stewart. Its no surprise the best 90 mins we have played in the last 10 games was with Stewart not Wyke. I was surprised when he took him off

Bit of an odd one that. He's 22 and never been near the matchday squad in League One
He's had a very good season, but still deemed not good enough for our matchday squad
PL and Championship Teams sniffing around?

Doesn't add up. If he was 17 or 18 then maybe, but this lad should be playing 1st team football somewhere by 22

He was playing first team football at Hartlepool, we bought him and stuck him in the u23s where he's shown that he's too good for them. Can't understand why he hasn't been on the bench to throw on at times to give us another option.

    Lee Johnson is the reason

For all this talk that he has a track record of bringing through young players he's done nothing of the sort here - maybe the pressure to get promoted has clouded his judgement, but to completely ignore Younger, Hakwes, Embleton & Neil when we had so many injuries and were crying out for a bit of enthusiasm and pace in the team is bloody criminal

Obrien was no where near scoring. And we all know he's ****e. Needs listing at first chance.
