So looks like we are getting Joselu from Stoke for £5m with Stoke getting Jese Rodriguez on loan from PSG.

Can't help but feel Stoke are making the better move.

On a side note also linked is Michal Pazdan a polish centr back (literally never heard of him), then again we are only linked with him cause he's cheap and 6' tall so not sure how much to read into that.

Mind you I know someone who would be happy with a cheap player........

He's only 6 inches tall?! Pygmy CB... Sounds like MA is cost cutting again.

I was reading a Stoke forum yesterday and the general consensus on there is we are getting a good deal and Hughes treated him badly. According to them he was the only one of their strikers that looked like they would score preseason. Also Berahino getting a load of stick of their fans glad we missed out on him.

Spot on, everything I've read from fans is that the stats back-up him being the best striker at their club.
We were all nursing a boner at the thought of getting berahino a year and half ago, and this guy outperformed him

Whether or not he got a bad deal from Hughes, the stats still concern me, he simply doesn't seem to be a regular goal scorer and hasn't been wherever he's played. I think Perez from Arsenal would be a better deal, the Arsenal fans at work seem to rate him and think he would have played more and been a bigger success if the rest of the team hadn't been so strong and meant he didn't get that many games.

I think we're still in for him, but we're looking at triple the money and wages.
We also haven't thought about why he'd join us when there's deffo better options available
To be fair the Deportivo chairman's already come out and said he's joining them so if we pull that off its a masterstroke. Need a plan B and, with the funds and resources available, Joselu's not that bad a buy

Agree, although Joselu strikes me as nothing more than that - a plan B striker, who will be back up to another striker with better goal stats. That main striker still needs to happen.

Think I'd have to agree, but if PSG are up for loaning out Jese then we should be all over it!

I can't get away from his career record regardless of pre season. Hopefully Rafa can drag something out of him.

Have to say Perez doesn't have a great career record, but I liked the look of him when I saw him play for Arsenal.

I am not a fan of Joselu but based on stats I would take him over Lucas Perez any day!

Joselu - 1 goal every 3 games average
Lucas Perez 1 goal every 3 and a bit games average

One costs upwards of £20M, the other £5M.

No contest.

We seem to now be looking at making signings from the southern extremity of our shopping list. Similar to the decision making that had the likes of Riviere rocking up. Nice to see they learn.

Yet he looked excellent for Arsenal in the limited chances he got. Whereas Joselu...

Yeah I know which I'd prefer too. The one who looked good regardless of what the stats say
