For me, both Sir Alex and Pep Guardiola are easily the better manager, because of their youth policy. Yes, wherever Mourinho has gone he has gotten the best out of his players and been outrageously succesful in the short term. However, I very much doubt that he will ever be as succesful at a club in the long term, because he is all about getting in the experienced and proven players as opposed to youth development which Sir Alex ang Guadiola are notorious for. I mean, which players from his own academy has Mourinho ever got into the first team? Debatably Balotelli at Inter...I can't think of any others off the top of my head...
Great, yes. The best ever, no way. As said by others, let's see Jose do things like Fergie/Clough did. Let him take over Barnsley or Palace and see if he can do what Clough did Jose has always had money to spend, plenty of it.
A good manager is someone who gets the best from whatever players he has, even if that only means finishing 4th from bottom instead of bottom. Hard to judge someone who has a team of internationals. Be interesting to take such a manager at the end of their career and give them a season with a struggling side...would make good reality tv show.
I am a fan of Mourinho and the PL will be better with him as a manager in it. He is a top manager but for me Ferguson is still the best (through gritted teeth)
The self styled one is pretty narky when he doesn't get it his way. Threw his toys out the pram a few times over el classico!
