He was a nightmare for grabbing last season and has not changed much this season. The strange thing is, he is probably good enough to defend without all the wrestling, maybe just a confidence thing.
Maybe, maybe not, the end of the season will tell. He likes Mata now, is it because of the dross he has to put up with at the moment.
Nope, quite the opposite in fact. He now has a defence and midfield he expects to be capable of stopping the other team so, has no problem with his attackers not chasing back every time they lose the ball.
Jose has reason for every one of his actions - however trivial it may seem. agree with you about our mid field back then. one of our weakest midfield in 2013. Lamps + Mikel it was like giving the opposition 1 or 3 pts prior to Kick off. I think we didn't win even a single game when these 2 started. Vanity project of Jose with these 2 deadly in midfield & even more deadly up top with Torres. Then came Matic; rest is history.
Don't agree with this the goal you gave away against Fenerbahce showed a massive defence and goalkeeper error. If you factor in the two dives 2-1 would have been a more accurate tale of the game. I predict Jose will possibly change tactics and attempt a swashbuckling start in the hope he can plunder an early advantage then revert to the Liverpool tactics.
I suspect it will go like this too. He will try the Fenerbache tactics first, then if that doesn't work, it will be the tried and tested Anfield method. And then the dullest ****ing game on earth. Trust us Diego, we have seen this manager in action more than anyone else. Got a tad sick of the amount of times where we played opponents and just let them have all the possession, and then tried to sneak a 1-0 win with a dodgy free kick or penalty. Especially when, in a lot of cases, it was against comparable opposition. It was not like we were Reading playing Barcelona. That's how Jose rolls though. Have a feeling the Fenerbache result will embolden him to change that for this game, at least for the first 20 minutes, then depending on how that goes, revert back to the tried and tested.
Whatever Jose brings to the party, you can rest assured that he will stick to it. Conte will asses the situation and adapt as the game unfolds, something that Jose is not often caught doing, unless bookings sending offs come into play. To be fair they have had a tough schedule, but hey that is the nature of the beast. Think this is going to be tight and I will be happy with a 1-0.
Yeh Jose's never been one for changing things, or adapting as the game unfolds And you lot claim you've seen him play more than most ****ing hell, if you have, then at least one above has learned **** all.
Jose in his second tenure was very stubborn and stayed with the same line up, not adapting at all. The only thing he changed was the club doctor. No we have never claimed to see Jose play, what planet are you from. Come back when you have reasonable arguments and try to cut back on the emoji's they make you seem immature. .
Its funny that. Jose's reputation goes ahead of him. Last season he was as rigid as a wooden ruler. That was my reason for losing faith with him. I remember playing one formation all season with the occasional 2 up top with 10 minutes to go. With conte we've had 1,2,3 and even 4 forwards in various games and competitions. That's variety in tactics! Not to take away from Jose of course. He is and will always be a legend in my eyes.
His first tenure was sublime and the second league win was full of still unbroken records. He literally ripped everybody a new arse.
His third one was the best for me. He had no farking right to win that league with that bunch of players with little money against Money bags from Manchester. He proved all odds wrong. Only Jose can - The best ever. That is why I don't bet against him in this season as well.
Ok don't bet against but wait until next year as he get shot of all the dead wood. Rooney, Fellaini, Carrick and others will be served their P45's then we need to be worried. As yet he doesn't know his best 11 hence why he's prone to playing the same ****e. But joses all about money.
"In 2004, Chelsea versus Manchester United was Jose Mourinho's first ever game in English football. "In 2016 it may have been the first date which Mourinho scribbled into his diary when the new fixture list was unveiled. "Mourinho in west London: it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Two spells, seven major trophies, two sackings. "There were players who loved him, and players who fell out of love with him. After the ugly ending 10 months ago, Chelsea's fans booed those who they felt had betrayed him - and many of those players are still at the club. "Beating Mourinho may be the best way, perhaps the only way, for Antonio Conte to help those fans move on." Courtesy of the BBC
Same team which played Leicester to take on Jose. Costa is my fantasy captain - hope he gets Jose. Fab on Paternity? not on bench.
lot of gaps now. Need to make use of it. Thibo need to show up his Atleti form and show what he is made of. He is crucial.
Zlatan isolating Dave. Need support for him. I see lot of long balls & crosses now to test Dave on Zlatan. Stop Tony on the right from crossing.
