Usually, I'd agree with jimmy here. Skrtel gets bullied by every big powerful CF. However, the three at the back is what I'd exploit more. Same tactic as last year; forwards push wide splitting the defence wide open and let central players exploit the space.

I don't hold much hope in us not playing a back three (because Brod doesn't learn) so hopefully Lucas plays to kill that space instead.

 

It wouldn't - Skrtel is easily bullied by physical strikers. He did OK against Costa but normally hates that kind of challenge.

 

Skrtel in a back 3 is actually alright - but that's down to the fact that he has less ground to cover because he has two cb's next to him.

But if anyone specifically targets him, then he's in trouble.

 

Which is why I'd take the actions I said above; basically, isolate Skrtel

 

Lukuku is ****e jumping from a standing start, he'd much rather face that, than seeing him picking up the ball and running at him with his pace and power or running on to a crossed ball.
