Hoovield is the most prone CB we have to mental mistakes and lapses in concentration. It isn't open for debate. That's the factor what's kept Hoovield out the side at times. Yoshida has played 90 minutes since debut. There's a reason for that. He's less prone to mistakes and more solid over the course of several games or a season.

He started this season, passed because of injury and yoshiba did rather good, but came back since new manager and played every game again.
Can call a lot of mistakes made by hooiveld, yoshiba and fonte and all the other players of southampton.nGames in which people don't make mistakes don't exist. Then there would never be made a goal again.
Was watching psgermain vs barca yesterday.......no mistakes??
Also have to remember that in case of defending there is a saying : action = -reaction, which means in footballterms that the attacker is always on advantage on the defender. The attacker makes the action and the defender has to react and is always 1 or 2 seconds later.
Look at the goal of Terry: he is making the move forward, pushing jos a little and is moving back. Jos reacts by moving forwards also, get pushed and can never be back in time. Clever play by Terry i think and nothing else.
What would you do in that situation? No reaction on the move forward and just stand still? I think a lot of supporters would have blaimed him even more than.
