A spanner in the works may Betis' form so far. They won yesterday to put them 4th in La Liga (a Champions League spot). Will they sell a first teamer now, when they have the potential millions to gain if they stay 4th?
The 18 month contract is a bit strange, its hard not to think it ties in with the end of Laudrups contract
Exactly. That's twice in a week now. At least it does appear that in the negotiations with these players, Laudrup is obviously indicating that he intends to see out his contract
I dont think there is an issue with Luadrup seeing out his contract, if all ive heard and read about him holds up that wont be the problem. IMO we wont have a brenden situation where we will get payment and have him under contract as his stock rises, when Laudrup goes it will probably be clean and after his contract runs out, only he will know if he wants to stay on but so far it appears he is looking at 2yrs and no more ,thats my take on it anyway.
Well if we get him in on an 18 month contract, it gives us more cash then in the summer to bring in a top quality striker or another midfielder/defender that will improve the team rather than be a squad/rotational player.
And sell him for £20-£25 million in January Hopefully we will get him on a permenant deal though. Could just be the missing link in our team.
Doesn't look like it. Yet Laudrup, who saw a £800,000 offer for Canas turned down earlier this month, insists the injury blow will not force him into reviving a deal for the 25-year-old, who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season. Laudrup said: âI donât think so. We are talking five games, and we have the squad to cope for five games." "If one or two injuries had changed everything that I donât think we would have done our work properly with the squad. If itâs well done then, with three or four injuries, you should still have a competitive team. âIf you lose three or four players in the same position it can be a problem, but this is not the case.â http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...audrup-1543849

To be honest I wouldn't expect him to say any different even if we were in for him again. Sir Mike isnot going to show to be desperate to sign anyone, he's a cool customer who likes to be in control of the situation
