You are taking the obtuse angle on purpose. Maybe ask why he thought it was the best?

For me, that season up until March was superb. We were the entertainers. We attacked constantly, we played exciting football.

Last season was superb for a different reason, we won a cup but the football wasn't anything like the Entertainers season. People forget last year, we were utter dog **** up till Xmas and nobody on this forum was having a good time.
This. They seem to just want to be ignorantly blind to what people post.

That season was exciting. I know we missed out but I enjoyed it.

I also enjoyed winning a cup last season.

I'm not taking the obtuse angle, I'm just not mentally insane. Who cares what it was like until March, the fact was we threw away the title and it was a devastatingly disappointing season.

Last season we weren't utter **** up to Xmas, we just had a very brief bad spell late November/early December. We then won our first domestic trophy in 70 years and qualified for the CL. Last season was objectively a better season, end of story. I don't care about your or GG's opinion, because it's not about opinions.

The football wasn't anything like the Entertainers? What, we weren't wide open with gaping holes in defence? We didn't have players like Batty and Asprilla messing up the balance of the team? Oh yeah, and last season wasn't like the Entertainers because we actually won something?
The whole point of a forum is about expressing opinions mate. What would be the point if we all had the same one?

Because this isn't about opinions, it's about a literal fact that last season, when we won our first domestic trophy in 70 years, was better than when we royally ****ed up and blew the title. We won a trophy last season and threw a trophy away in 1995.

Likewise someone could have an opinion that Steve McClaren's season was the best in their lifetime, and justify this by saying I'm entitled to my opinion. No one cares what weird inverted joy you got from us blowing the title, the fact is last year was a better season.

I enjoyed both season but for different reasons. 93/94 I was at Uni, was in the pubs for most games and it was brilliant to watch. Last year football wasn't as good but we finally won something and I was with the kids, so it was special.

I am merely pointing out that you had a go at GG for saying he enjoyed the 93/94 season more but you didnt bother to ask why and then went on to imply he's bizarre. Just think that was a bit bizarre itself. Anyway GG can stick up for himself so I'll pipe down but 93/94 was a near pinnacle for me in terms of NUFC supporter experience due to multiple factors Ive mentioned above.

I think you mean 95/96.

And GG *is* bizarre, I don't think there's any doubt about that - he prefers the most disappointing season in our history to the one where we actually won something, and he does imaginary prison sentences for vehicular assault.

The first half of that Keegan season were brilliant but unfortunately the second half of the season was torture. Means I can’t remember it fondly as a season. Was more gutted after the Liverpool game than after any other game ever.
Last season wasn’t flamboyant and had its ups and downs but crucially the best part was the business end and we finally won a cup. On a par with 1968/69 for my best season.
For enjoyment another great one(despite only finishing 3rd) was the promotion season with Keegan, Beardsley, Waddle, McDermott and the Roeder shuffle. (For the young uns ask your dad lol)

So no examples to try and back up your assertion. Don't blame you as you'd be pushed to find examples. You could just concede instead.

Any post that includes an insult just for a start... Actually the term bedwetter is ad hominem for example.

GG goes ad hominem too if that helps soothe you.
