Fine by me. Not a big fan though he has been much better this season. However, he is still not the player we need in my book. Not enough go forward, no goals, not enough assists. Very good at holding the ball and keeping control, but when we are up against a team like Burnley 1st half, and really need to score, he's not worth 2 bob. Good player in a team like Italy, who play in slow motion, but just not quite what is needed in the PL, especially when your front three couldn't score in a brothel. He has always given his best, can't ask more, but we need more grunt and drive than he gives us, so goodbye and thanks for everything. Hope we use the transfer fee as part payment for Declan Rice.
Jorginho has difficulty scoring from open play. Great penalty taker and he makes a far better contribution to the side now than when we first signed him……..and we have won cups with him in the side.
Can't argue with that assessment, he is definitely been a very good team player, but compared with ,say, a De Bruyne or Rice in his place, I think we'd be better off.
Rodri and Fernandino are more resemblant to Jorghino mate KDB plays just behind and sometimes alongside the forwards. Rice is a better comparison.
Not trying to replicate him, just thinking a player with the ability to score a few, open things up for his forwards and show some power occasionally would be a better fit. A clone of Modric would be good ! Jorginho is still our players so it's only thinking out loud.
He’s a holding player and sits deep. Replace him with De Bruyne and we lose CL final Modric rarely scores
He's a 'holds everything up" player far too often. Replace him with de Bruyne and let Gilmour play holding mid and we win everything. Modric gets his forwards scoring plenty because he CAN play them in. Read the post properly,
You said and I quote: ‘a player with the ability to score a few, open things up for his forwards and show some power occasionally would be a better fit. A clone of Modric would be good’ Since when has Modric scored a few and had ‘power’
