Sad consequences of no protection from L2 refs maybe? If you show any sort of style or willing to do well, then you get hacked down, I lost count of how many fouls went into him against Swindon.

brb- at L2 level, all you have to do to nullify a 'flair' player, is to instruct one of your team to administer GBH -- the probably punishment will only be a yellow card (( not even a blue one ! )) - with any 'luck' the player becomes crippled and you don't have to worry about their threat for the rest of the game........I think it's what centre-half used to do in the early 70s......

It's part reason I personally felt Swindon did not deserve the draw, because they just did an absolute butchers job on the lad.
