What a daft ****, Beckham has been past it for years and still this day remains hopeful of being called up. Carrick isn't exactly a starter week in week out for Utd and you don't catch him giving SAF an ultimatum. If only he wound his neck in, he probably would have started every game for England due to the injuries.
Carracks not as good as he used to be. He is no better tan Henderson now, apart from experience. We might as well embrace the future.
Good news for us too, means he won't be going to the Olympics which would have a bigger impact on the start of next season
I've read the article - either they've changed it in some way, or you've misread it. There is no describing Jordan as a 'Liverpool Flop' anywhere...
I haven't checked his passport or birth certificate, but I really don't think Woy is 21, unless he's really been pounding the sunbeds too hard...
Totally agree with that assessment. Had some great games, showed fantastic potential but not ready for it yet. I think he got overwhelmed by the pressure of the cup final. However, you have to take some juniors along to get tournament experience to prevent them being overwhelmed when they are ready so I can see his place is justifable. I don't know if I'm glad about Lampard or not. We won't have to suffer the Gerrard-Lampard conundrum for the first time since Steve McLaren had the sense to drop Frank and put Barry in with Gerrard, which worked very well until he put Lampard back in for Croatia and doomed us. What bugs me is that the better Hodgson does the more crap we'll get about not giving him time.
Or Kenny. Now let's be fair, he had the sense to ditch Torres, someone who was was great in his time but has been awful nearly of the time since the start of 2010. He also played his part in signing two good players in Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, yet in his full season Kenny managed to make Hodgson's league record look respectable.
It's hilarious that you pile negativity onto Carroll when arguably, he's the player the Europeans will fancy playing against the least! He's also come into fantastic form lately and was one of our best players against Norway. Grow a brain of your own and stop regurgitating SSN tripe.
I think Roy could do a lot for Henderson's defensive side. He did wonders for Spearing IMO. With questions over Parkers fitness, Henderson could have a good part to play.
Carrick has made 31 appearances in the league this season and I'm assuming most, if not all, are starts. So "Carrick isn't exactly a starter at United" is complete untrue. We can argue about the sentiment of him not making himself available for the Euros, but my take on it was Hodgson told him he'd be on the standby list and Carrick told him no thanks. I personally think you should never down your country, but I've been in a situation similar before. Carrick felt he played his ass off this season and deserved a place in at least the 23 man squad if not the starting 11 and he got neither. In my slightly biased view Carrick was the best and most consistent English midfielder all season and Hodgson wanting to put him on standby was a bit of a snub to Carrick. Say what you will about Beckham, but he's still a great player, obviously on the decline in play abilities. He can sti hit a great cross and pass and score some wicked free kicks, but more importantly he still has that drive and will to win almost all English players seem to lack. Best of luck to Henderson, definitely deserves to he there more than downing does. Hope he takes his chance at the Euros and has a good tournament. And then has a terrible season at Liverpool.
Hodgson didnt play Spearing, in fact I think Woy sent him out on loan? Leicester? I could be wrong though
We are quickly running out of mids that can pass the ball forward and not sideways. Gerrard is way past his best but at least he can pick out a pass.
