No...you're not. You're giving an opinion that you believe is right. Big difference. I was a massive supporter of Jonjo on this forum but even I had to admit he was hopeless for us towards the end of his time here. On his day he is a definite match winner and he did that numerous times for us. But his head wasn't right and you know it. Now some players have greater fortitude, act professionally and get over that. He clearly couldn't. As for Toon I've little doubt that moneybags Ashley will get them back up as he did before. Pretty shocking that Shelvey is so highly paid.
You tell me who plays a good game every game ? nobody does so why would you expect Jonjo to be any different ? He was an asset when he played and that's more than i can say about 3/4 of our team today....
I'll do it anyway Dai let's list the all the qualities of each player. Shelvey Good; long passing long shots and free kicks Aggressive Bad; Wreckless and unpredictable Poor short passing Easy let's his head drop Slow to react Easily pressed Not a team player /blames others for his mistakes Reluctant to do his defensive duties Britton Good; Breaking up attacks Picking up 2nd balls Aggressive Short passing Composed on the ball Pressing Tackling Attitude Good core balance Bad; Heading (height)
Leon gets muscled off the ball by the bigger players and that is practically everyone......Leon has to have good players around him or he is as useless as a chocolate teapot.......A good player if the whole team is good and that's why he is on his 3rd season as a bit part player....far to lightweight for today's physical game
Rubbish!!!! Some of the best players are small like leon. (Oscar, Silva, coutinho and Eriksen) His problem is that he's getting on now and can't play with the intensity needed for 90mins anymore. Our problems today are mainly because we haven't signed a player like leon.
And that is? Coming from a guy who goes off on one after reading a click bait headline without learning all the facts, (the Kingsley fantasy football article was a cracker even for you) Moreover, you struggle to see situations objectively and come up with the most illogical conclusions on this forum.
He has been dropped so many times that he was thinking of leaving so that's how good he is to us today....accept it man he will only play now if we field a weakened side in cup matches......that's the way things are im afraid and have been for a number of seasons......He has been a good servant coming through the leagues and when we were playing good football in the first couple of seasons in the premiership and even then he would be subbed very often.......Opposition players were running rings around him in the end as he was far too lightweight. You have to be strong and fast in his position......He should be coaching now or playing in the lower league today as his playing days in the premiership will be rare or not at all......
Dai please refer to my previous post as it stated that leon is now only a squad player and is coming to the end of his career. And that one of our biggest failure is not finding a player with his attributes. Shelvey is not that player and never will be. Do you think it was pure coincidence that our form dramatically improved when he left? Shelvey with us struggled to nail down a regular place in the starting line-up if you can remember. I'm not hating on the guy but I do think he was overrated massively by pundits and the press because he was English.
