    Now Official.

    The interesting bit is this...

"The fee for Shelvey, who will join up with the Swans squad during the pre-season tour of Holland, also includes potential add-ons on top of the transfer fee."

I think I read somewhere that the initial fee was £4.5m with possible add ons to bring it up to £6m.

Talk about chip on your shoulder. I was just wishing the guy well and saying that whilst 'on loan' he had a good scoring record.

Calm down and sort out your attitude

For those who don't know, Jonjo has suffered from Alopecia from a young age.

No none of that. I like the guy and though he has done well at all levels. He is moving on and there is nothing that I can do about it, so wishing him well. I think he will do well for you, i think he would have done well for us if he had stayed and I think he will do well where ever he goes. So pipe down, attitudes is only coming from one place and thats you.

I am just totally underwhelmed by this signing and for far to much money. I know I havent seen that much of him. But when I have seen him on TV or playing against us he has been no more than very average. When he palyed down here on the last game of the 11 - 12 season with Henderson they were appalling. I hope that is not the player we are getting.

It looks like Liverpool have got their own back on us for the Joe Allen deal.

Not really because despite the high transfer fee Allen is a very good player. (some may disagree)

Its nice to think some of you think so.

Perhaps you can answer this, there is rumour that the shelvey deal is part of monies still owed for Allen. any ideas.

I am underwhelmed by this transfer. We should have made Liverpool pay the five million they owed us.

Didn't Liverpool want us to take Shelvey on loan for the season as part of the Allen deal ?? Now we got the sucker for four years..

Sure we could have used the money for better signings..

Not sure why there's so much arguing going on or why people are hating on Jonjo already...

He's a young lad with alot of promise. The issue is that he's been at Liverpool a while, hasn't broken into the first XI yet and with Lucas, Gerrard and Coutinho plus rumours of Mkhitaryan, probably never will. Never mind the likes of Allen and Hendo on our books who, whilst being better is subjective, both will be given more opportunities purely because of their cost alone.

When he has played for us, he's been hit or miss; sometimes brilliant with quick passing and getting into the box late to chip in with goals as well as being a passionate player who'll fight lost causes, but sometimes he's just off form and everything goes wrong for him. He'll come good with more game time, for sure. Hopefully he'll get that at Swansea and develop into a good player for you.

Incidently, it's not 'attitude', it's just that he'll just get more opportunities with you; not having to oust fan favourites like Lucas, club legends like Gerrard or the current flavour of the month (and rightly so) in Coutinho. Swansea are a good team and I like them, but your midfield isn't as strong as ours so he'll have more of a chance of breaking in. He'll do well if he does.

6mill is more than I expected though, if I'm honest...5ish would have been a good price, 4 would have left me a bit unhappy.

Welcome Mr Shelvey - you are now one of the Swans - you next goal is to work hard enough to become a Jack Barsteward.
