We might get £2m for Hogg now. We would get not far off of £100m for promotion this season. Hogg makes more than a 2% difference to our chances of doing so this season. In the summer that equation might change, because he will be worth more and we will have time to bed the right replacement in.
Only thing I would question Cornish is "where the increase in revenue will far outweigh any short term profit" - increase in revenue from being in PL is probably not that huge unless the East Stand is redeveloped combined with a big increase in ST prices. Sell a few players and make £5M pure profit would be very tempting.
Lots of phone calls, but nothing concrete. http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich...town_squad_sooner_rather_than_later_1_1781866
I can't see it happening while Eustace is still recovering and hopefully he'll still be a WFC player on 1st February.
Doesn't sound as if he is on the move. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10140023._All_the_pressure_will_be_on_City_/
All true and I fully expect and understand this, but why now? The stats seem to suggest that he is key to our success, so now would be the worst possible time to ship him out. Is money more important than premiership football? I simply ask, which will offer more, selling Hogg for up to £2,000,000 and then staying in the championship, or getting promoted? It should be a simple answer.
http://www.ipswich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=304359 They say he is playing far less under Gianfranco Zola, but isn't he our leading appearance maker this season, Some people need to get their facts right.
correct, that's rubbish. By all accounts he was injured today, so hopefully that will squash this rumour!
It appears that the Hogg rumour was started (rather skillfully I might add) by a regular poster on another Watford forum. Once it reached the 'Twattersphere' it snowballed from there. He's not moving. Never has been. It's a scam.
