I have heard a rumour (mate sent text saying he saw it on Twatter) that Jonas was in Argentina having an op to remove a testicle only to come back here and told to sod off by that dick in charge! If so, then Pardew lost any lingering sympathy I had for him.

As for Jonas, wishing you well and you'll always be a star (even if your legs have gone now)!

Hope it's not true but the fact that all his hair is gone on photo's would suggest it is. As for the Pardew quotes I sincerely hope not, if true doesn't deserve to manage in football again.

I wasn't jonas biggest fan but christ the club couldn't have been that brutal. The bloke has had it for 12 months and we send him off to norwich? I'm actually stunned, I really am. What sort of cold hearted motherless ****s do we have here?

Surely this was sick leave and its been misinterpreted?

Guy I'm disgusted let's all put aside the protests for a bit on Saturday and focus on the more important thing in life and support jonas through this and show our solidarity to a player who has not always been the best but Is the most loyal servant of the club !

I didn't think this great club would stoop so low and treat him in this way I'm sickened truly sickend

Apparently he's now having chemo. Hope he beats this.

“I got my left testicle removed in Argentina. When I came back to England, [Pardew] told me to leave,” Jonas told TycSports.

Look I hate pardew but surely he said 'go home, get well, be with your family' type of thing. He couldn't have been this cold.

Surely?

Get well soon jonas. My uncle is dying of this vile disease but it looks like its been caught early (hopefully). You'll beat it mate.

I always liked Jonas. He did used to run into corners quite a bit but at least he could run. And he worked his arse off all the time. He said that he paid for his treatment himself and not the club. Now that I could believe of NUFC.. Chin up dude!!

Wonder if Pardew will use Jonas`s illness as an excuse for the teams performance against Southampton. He exhausted all the other ones..

Get well soon Jonas, everyone is pulling for you mate..

I wonder if he went to norwich due his relationship with CH, to give him support and somewhere to recuperate for abit as he hardly ever played for norwich.

It's true as all media sources are confirming it, gutted for him a top bloke.
I hate pardew with a passion but I can't see him doing that I believe it more to be like him telling him to go away and get better type thing

Best of luck to Jonas.

According to NUFC.COM the 'go home' message is out of context and meant to be a 'be with your family' message while his contract is still intact. Here's their article:

Tuesday evening saw the publication of quotes from Jonas Gutierrez in his native Argentina, confirming why he's not featured in the Newcastle squad this season:

"When I confirmed that I had cancer I went home crying. This was the most difficult game I had to play.

"I detected a tumour in a testicle. I came here and I assumed the costs, despite having a contract with Newcastle.

"Money is not important. What is important is health and I had to start chemotherapy. It was hard to find my hair falling out. I did not want to cut it. I wanted to hold on.

"Fighting cancer makes the rest of the problems are insignificant. I decided to tell my story because maybe is will help people who have cancer."

"I removed the left testicle. I returned to England and Newcastle told me to leave."

Don't take the last sentence literally - our reading of this is that he's was encouraged to return home and be with his family, and that the contract making him a Newcastle player until the end of this season is being honoured.

Really gutted for Jonas. I wish him all the best in his battle against this horrible disease. Lost my Dad to it six years ago and I know the treatment can be brutal. Jpnas has always been a favourite of mine and I hope he makes a full recovery.

When it was suggested that he couldn't play one more game due to that triggering a new contract then I thought we were treating him shamefully. I don't think even this administration would sink as low as this report suggests. If they have I will be ashamed of my club. I wouldn't be able to think of words to describe how bad it was. Perhaps its denial, but I can't imagine it's more than him being told to go home rather than f** off.
