To Reuters about two hours ago wrt to the mid terms he said; "when you think of it, we shouldn't even have an election". Leavitt defended what he said by saying 'he was joking and speaking facetiously'. Trump and Miller have also both said they want the Insurrection Act used in Minnesota, which means Martial Law, which means no elections there.

You're missing the point, Greenland and Denmark are both supposedly ALLIES of the USA. And Trump is threatening them with MILITARY force.
It doesn't matter that he will now probably not go through with it - not after a succession of REPUBLICANS (including the Senate leader) have stood up and declared their total opposition to it.
The damage is done. Vladimir Trump is single handedly wrecking the NATO alliance. Decades of trust have been destroyed in a few days. Denmark is actually sending troops to defend Greenland !!!
Greenland loves having US bases there for the $$$ they generate for the country - do you think that Greenlanders want more US military there now ?
