Watford head coach Slavisa Jokanovic says there will “very soon be news” regarding his future with the Hornets.

The Serbian arrived at Vicarage Road in October and guided the Golden Boys to promotion to the Premier League and a second place finish in the Championship.

However, his contract with Watford expires this summer and there has been speculation linking the former Chelsea midfielder with top flight sides.

Jokanovic stresses he would like to remain with the Hornets and, speaking after his side’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, said: “Now we have finished the Championship it is time to talk about the club’s future, the team’s future and my future.

“There will very soon be news about my next steps. I am happy here. It is a great club who gave me a great chance. I believe I have done a good job and I believe I have given them a little back.

I'd ask him tonight at the awards dinner but he's so scary, perhaps the missus should be pushed forward?

I hope he stays otherwise the media will just be banging on about another managerial change!

I think somebody at the club needs to point out we had 4 this season partly because Sannino quit and Garcia left due to illness unless they know something different.

In reality the Pozzos were only responsible one change.,.ok that was a bit of a mess.

    But that worked...

I do that regularly on various newspaper websites & blogs - it's got to the stage where the Mirror, Mail and Telegraph no longer print my submissions. :(

Doubt that there is much interest in your submissions to the Scotsman either. :emoticon-0100-smile

I suspect that my comments to the Mail are not well received seeing as they usually have a dig at their fool who hates Watford. Think I will have to change my user name.:emoticon-0116-evilg

I do tend to avoid the Scotsman - far too much of a Westminster rag for my liking. I do admit to dipping in occasionally - the comments made by the mainly Unionist readership are something else with their repetitive stupidity, and serve to reinforce my belief in the SNP. They are also on the Green side of Edinburgh, whereas I prefer the Maroon side...<laugh>

I don't know whether anyone else has teams they like for no reason they can remember. Before I went to school I spent weekends with a couple who babysat me while my folks were working. Apparently I spent some of the time copying the football scores from the Sunday Express. Now bear in mind I was very young, the names of Hibernian and Queen of the South sounded intriguing to me and I've always looked out for their scores ever since. I don't remember either of them ever being very successful and I'm not even sure where the latter play <laugh>

I'm not sure that QoS have ever won anything, but Hibs certainly have - a long time ago though. Their heyday was the decade immediately after WWII, during which they were champions three times. I'm fairly certain that they were UK's first representatives in the European Cup too, and reached the semi final stage.

And my dad played for them, which doesn't really explain my preference for Hearts...

My dad, never a football fan and certainly not a player, professed support for Hamilton Academicals (the idea of a footballer as an academic amused him) and Accrington Stanley (as Stanley was his given name). He never had much to celebrate <laugh>

When I was very young I had a similar liking for Palace. When reading aloud the football scores I called them C Place. Then I discovered that they had a player called Queen. I found the following headline particularly funny - "Queen involved in fight at Palace".

Met Slav tonight at the awards evening, he is still a bit scary but seems to be a nice guy. He nearly crushed my hand with his handshake. Don't mess with him!!

I'm sure he would have said, in his faltering English, that he is not the manager, but the Head Coach... <whistle>

Far too many things we do not know, but he deserves respect for getting us where we are today. I think he gained a great deal of support from the fans at Watford, and so many of us were disappointed that he didn't show what he he could do in the PL.
