Whilst not wishing to be a party pooper as most of the posts appear on the face of it positive towards Ward and he has a good record at the lower levels mind you that was a long time ago,he is very personable and appears passionate towards Bristol Rovers.

I also thought that Higgs was disengenuous when he said that we had lacked someone who had Bristol Rovers Passion and understood the club and fans over the last 5 years........ perhaps he has already forgotten Stuart Campbell as we have not!

Also the press conference report by local news concentrated on Wards past record

However if you look at his last post at Colchester it does not make good viewing

He was sacked in September after the club began the new season without a win in nine league and cup games, leaving the club virtually at the bottom of the table.

We have a massive problem, Nick Higgs and the board continue to make mistakes on the recruitment of our managers and coaches we have had 7 since Dec 2010,this reflects our current league position.

I can only hope that

button has not been hit to early in the recruitment process or lack of! it truly smacks of hmm Ward is avaliable, known to us,the fans will like him,quick lets recruit him.Lets be fair he does not have a magic wand to change things overnight,remember we still have the same set of players who got us into this mess as well.

Andy Tilson replacing North,would be an excellent Assistant man (if appointed) he would get a huge support if he returns home especially if he works alongside Stewart.

Perhaps we should reserve judgement until 10 matches in. I still have nightmares of our recruitment of Penney also in haste,then it was left up to Campbell to try and rescue our season the rest is history.

and thought it was a good appointment.

buckle had a great record before coming to us and was shocking with us.

the difficulty here for ward and it would be the same for any manager, its getting the ****e players we have to perform. hopefully wards motivational talks are better than MM's.

Bit different though as he managed at a level far higher than ours. Ward has done nothing with....well...nothing teams really in recent years. I hope it works out, i really do. I just dont see it changing under ward. We will survive but that is all, and next season will be another season of mid table hoofball
 
To be fair I think that the players will fight for there contracts for Ward similar to what happened last season when Mcghee took us to 13th position following the Chuckles fiasco.

Then what will Higgs and co do stick or twist on the managerial front

If he gets us to a 13th place finish he'll be a ****ing legend. Just staying in the football league will be enough for me, that's how low my expectations have sunk <cry>
 
Agree third quartile would be a result ,13th as you say Gas would be an even better one. P49 one game at a time eh seems a sensible approach Rotherham up next, interesting to see if or how he shuffles the pack.

I hope also for all the supporters and the new Manager that the board provide him with funds to buy the illusive striker and two midfielders that we desperately require to stiffen up the spine of the team and oh retain Eaves till the end of the season.No doubt this may be difficult givin the % protocol in operation unless we lose some of the underperformers Rhiordan et al
