slight correction on further research, was going on the memory, as i have always found it amusing that the nations sweetheart cheryl cole is guilty of ABH - accused of racially aggrievated assualt, but found guilty of assualt. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/3207822.stm
Charming little twat isn't she? 'Stunned' that she was convicted, no apology. Her and Cashley made a wonderful couple...
Only if Terry now admits what he did, mate. Anton's only doing what the law commands him to do, which is give his testimony under oath. He's still the victim, remember? You do seem keen to forget that Anton has never been the one who wanted to drag this out.
Ferdinand didn't do anything heinous Matt, that's unfair. But I'm not sure Terry did either. Just an on-field spat that's since become a circus. I've no doubt Anton is a good bloke.
Ashley Cole is key to whether Terry is acquitted in my opinion. The whole Terry defence hinges on whether the judge believes that Anton queried Terry with regards the phrase " B**** C***" DURING the game. Anton claims he didn't hear anything racist until AFTERWARDS. If Anton didn't know about the racism during the game he could not have questioned Terry on it, ergo Terry could not srcastically repeat the phrase as he alleges. This is where Cashley comes into it. I read Terry's statement last night and in it he claims that he even raised the issue with Cashley DURING the game and Cashley has borne this out in his own statement. Clearly somebody is lying but as things stand it is no longer one mans word against anothers it is now Terrys word backed up under oath by Cashley vs Anton. I fear that Anton has walked right into a trap here as I genuinely believe that he did not use that phrase towards Terry so there is no way Terry could repeat it (sarcastically or otherwise) as he claims..................but how the hell do you win a case against an individual (s) who may be prepared to lie under oath?!
Of course not. Natureally, had Swords said that she was looking a little sheepish, the confusion would easily arise....
Therein lies the problem. I admire your other post reiterating your opinion on racists and racism and would never suggest you take the problem lightly Swords. However it is with the above example in mind, that I have to take umbrage with your overall position. The reason that racial slurs towards a black person carries such gravitas is due to history. As we all know, there is a history of black people having been persecuted due to the colour of their skin. Black people have suffered centuries of abuse and in some places it still goes on. There is not, as far as I know, a race of overweight women who sleep around that have been wrongly persecuted throughout history. So to compare calling Terry's mum a 'fat slag' to calling someone a 'black ****' is really missing the point. No Terry doesn't hate Ferdinand because of the colour of skin, but he does have the legal and moral responsibility as an adult to have the intelligence to understand the semantics involved here.
Coldharbour...Terry has "moral responsibility as an adult to have intelligence to understand".......sorry but he doesn't understand jack. As a footballer he leads by example (whether you like him or not)", as person he is scum. he uses his position to manipulate, take advantage and rip people off. Hopefully the one person THAT will take him to the cleaners is his Mrs who must only be there for his money......
That's a really important point, Cold. I was thinking that very thing last night. I made the point that if someone was called a white c*nt nowte would be said about it and to be fair, its not at all valid . I'm glad you brought that up - so I'd like to retract that analogy because it is indeed bogus. There's no group of people in the history of the World that were persecuted more than the Africans or those of African descent. Good point and well spotted Cold.
