Rooney also won more than Terry.

Edit: although granted that if Chelsea win the league this year, Terry will surpass Rooney, not that Terry has contributed a great deal to Chelsea's title campaign.

Both were vastly overrated IMO, as demonstrated with there England performances.
Shame Woodgate couldn't keep fit for more than few minutes at a time, as he was better than both combined.

He wore the captains armband for 5 games. If you want to be pedantic about it then yes. He was an England captain.

He was never club captain at United and, given that we're talking about performances in the Premier League, I think bringing his 5 England caps as captain into it is a waste of time.

In his prime Ferdinand was the best around imo.

Once he lost that blistering pace he started to wane, but in his pomp he was magnificent

Aki needs to make his ****ing mind up!

    Are we discussing:

    England Centrebacks?
    Centrebacks?
    English captains?
Which English Captain won the most trophies?
Who was the best Captain material?

So you're taking about trophies won with their clubs while they were England captain?

    Bizarre!

I'm with @Spurlock on this. I haven't got a clue what you're on about or what point you're trying to make.

Elegant player in a team set up like Utd to continually attack. Always thought that he needed someone beside him who could do the "nuts and bolts" defending (such as Woodgate at Leeds). Also prone to a lack of concentration at times. His and Terry's performances for England were a real let down for me, as on paper you had the ideal combination of brawn and brains.
I was (as you probably have gathered) a huge Woodgate fan. I remember seeing him give a MOTM performance after joining Newcastle 24hrs previously and not even having the chance to train with his new team mates.
As I said, shame he couldn't remain fit as I personally think he was a far better defender than either Ferdinand or Terry IMO.

Problem with Aki is he only started watching football about a decade ago at the age of 4.

Most of us were watching football long before you was floating about in your dad's nutsack mate <ok>

Woodgate was a quality CB, unfortunately he had a love of the 'lifestyle' and this did nothing to assist with his injury issues.
