Ive just woken up here, and Im going to have to change my underwear already.

I know its "only" JOhn O'Shea, but experience is one factor we have been crying out for. He is also a pretty solid performer, and a recognisable name. The signing of him and Wickham shows some intent, and could help us nail down a top class striker.

Whickham can also play on the wing and being left footed he may play out there with Gyan & hopefully Welbeck upfront.

Back onto O'shea, he still has a lot to offer through experience but also has another 3 good seasons or so to come. Not the most exciting signings but there is no doubt he will bring something very important to the team.

Hope we dont get Brown, and Gibson surely isnt needed now thanks to the Gardner deal. Im still holding out that Brucey will spring us a left back from somewhere or a quality left winger

Reports suggesting O'Shea may be a target for Arsenal may not be entirely accurate....

Sunderland are set to complete the signing of Manchester United defender at the start of next week.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has been the busiest Premier League manager so far during the summer transfer window, having already captured Craig Gardner, Connor Wickham, Seb Larsson, Ji Dong-won and Kieren Westwood.
But the spending is not going to stop there, with Republic of Ireland international O'Shea believed to be on the verge of a move to Wearside from Manchester United.
O'Shea's current team-mates Wes Brown and Darron Gibson are also understood to be targets for Bruce, who has also indicated that he may also dip into the loan market.
