whatever your opinion of him he is coming out with some sense this week by saying that the channel 4 racing coverage is much worse than when he used to be on it.
of course channel 4 don't just miss McCririck they also miss the wit of Alastair Down, the enthusiasm of Derek Thompson and the effortless seamless production team of Highflyer.
I was wondering the other day why I had found the flat season less interesting this year and then McCriricks comments hit me and I realised that channel 4's coverage was increasingly sending me to sleep. the Morning Line used to be essential viewing - now I find it almost pointless which is a real shame. and then in the afternoon the Cunningham/McGrath analysis zzzZZZZZZzzz...
