What really pisses me off is that everyone immediately assume the owners are being stingy. They assume that Rodgers wanted Dempsey more than oxygen itself and they assume that the reason for not signing him was 1m or so. Where the **** did any of you get this information? When someone says "well clearly they're being cheap" I want to beat some sense into them. No it's not ****ing clear that they're being cheap, no it's not clear that they are only in it to make a profit, and it's not clear that they view us as nothing but an acquisition. What have we actually said about Dempsey? "Yeah we've made an enquiry". That's it. (don't give me that NESN website crap, it's run by a largely autonomous publisher, editor, etc). Did Rodgers come out and say "I wanted him but the owners didn't want to cough up an extra 1m"? No. He's said nothing. For all we know, it might have been Rodgers who decided that Dempsey wouldn't exactly be a Messiah, and chose not to spend 9m. It also doesn't make any sense to me that they would be "cheap", as it was Rodgers himself that let Gylfi Sigurdsson join Tottenham for asking for a small wage increase. He knows the value of players, he knows what he should pay and he wont cough up an extra dime. No one on earth bar Rodgers, Ayre, and FSG know the reason that they didn't sign Dempsey. Anyone who claims "well it's obvious that they're cheap to save money!!!1!!!1!" is an idiot because the only thing that's obvious is that FSG don't talk about inner workings to the press. A few weeks ago, in MITO's "man on the street" thread about Dempsey, people were mostly saying they would take Dempsey only if we didn't overpay. Tottenham paid 6m, and Fulham "reportedly" asked for 9 from us out of principle. Now, I don't necessarily know if that is true (I don't believe the media until they directly quote someone, interview them, or show proof in documentation) but if so, 9m for a 29 year old is too much. He's not RVP. Second, Where is everyone recieving the information that FSG pushed Rodgers to loan out Carroll? It was Rodgers himself who said "we're not in a position to have a 35m striker on the bench"! If anyone has to take the blame for that it's Rodgers himself. Call up Ian Ayre, ask him if he's got your replacement, if not, don't send anyone out on loan. If Ayre tells you he does, and it falls through, then it's Ayre's fault and he's got to take our blame. This whole window, Rodgers has been pushing Carroll out, as if it were personal. I don't understand why, I figured Rodgers for a much more intelligent manager than most people are, I thought he of all people would understand that Carroll isn't a hoofball player. Apparently not. Rodgers and Ayre in tandem are responsible for the deadline day and lack of strikers. Back to FSG. When Rodgers wanted Borini - they paid up. 11.5m When Rodgers wanted Allen - They paid up. 15m. When Rodgers wanted Sahin - they paid up (5m for the loan deal, that's not a small amount). Rodgers signed Assaidi - they paid 3m or so. In total, that's around 30m, not counting Sahin's wages. As for the funds we freed up, wages aren't a direct windfall. We don't sell Aquilani and suddenly get 6m from wages to spend. We're at -6m for the year, all this does is over the next year bring us back to 0 spend. Therefore, the money invested still had to come from somewhere. Out of pocket. Investments. 30m is a solid, reasonable investment for a club that aren't City. It's not FSG's fault that Rodgers is playing Suarez up front and Borini out wide. It's not their fault that he plays Downing instead of Assaidi and Sterling, and it's not their fault the team looks dejected. These are problems I know BR has the ability to fix, and one that I believe he will if we give him time. I don't expect CL this year, that's a bit unrealistic. I expect to see fight and desire and an improvement on 8th. We'll get it. Striker or not until January.
See your comebacks are identical to a month ago; nothing sensitive about me, other than my nutsack, which has a higher IQ than you judging on the absolute bollocks you spout here. You took your mistake back because you were called on it. Up until then you believed yourself the cleverest boy in all the whole world. Your reading comprehension hasn't improved since our last "meeting" either. If you'd read my posts you'd have seen concerns, not biting of heads but you were never here for that you malignant cancer of a forum. Now You do realise still living with your mother doesn't count as "not lonely" nor do those "ladies" you webcam each night really like you for your rapists' wit. Good catching up with you though. You can pay me to be your friend but you'll still remain a virgin though. Just to make that clear.
I am prepared to take henry at his word in this letter this time. Any professional can make an error and if we accept that errors were made and owners see and admit to it then fine. But, The proof is in the pudding. If they do not fix this in Jan and next summer then the owners will lose the supporters and will be unable to win them back.
