I can find anything official yet but twitter is awash with the story. Best news of the summer - perhaps the year - without a shadow of a doubt.
 
If there was a God we would have done a transfer swap - Eustace for Messi! :)

Nevertheless, it just goes to show that there was no truth in the rumour mill stories at all.
 
Thank the high heavens! DG was easy to get over, I was irritated by Buckley going, and Don leaving was hard to swallow, but if Super John left I don't know how I would have coped. I can see him linking with Iwelumo quite well :D

If there were a god we would have swapped Jenkins for messi. Eustace is our captain and we need him.

I would happily queue up for hours just to shake that mans hand!! He has been great for us and has been very loyal too. It's nice to see.

Err maybe that's a bit too much? I picked up the news that there was a big announcement coming ....... and I got excited and thought there was to be a big signing unveiled.

The detail is that John Eustace has extended his contract by one year from 2012 to 2013, yes its good news, but I confess I thought there was some BIG news on the way.
 
That's true Elixir, but I'm delighted nonetheless.

We all know that Mahon is getting a pre-season as a personal favour from Dyche, and is more likely to drop down a division to get first team football than to stay here. But until today there has always been that niggling little question mark over Eustace. Don't forget, he was a failure under Boothroyd and overlooked by Rodgers. There was good reason to believe that he might be considering his position.

Last year, if it wasn't for Malky Mackay, he would have gone to Leeds. I'm in no doubt about that. This year he hasn't signed for the manager who has brought the best out of him, but for the club that he believes is best for him going forward.
 
Well said NNW There is no doubt he is a very important cog in the watford machine:) I an well happy and as I have had my father saying to me we are going to steal your skipper , there was a highly amusing phone call this afternoon!
