Iâd agree that we need to be playing Adel (or Buz) for a creative spark. My point on team spirit is that it isnât built overnight. It will happen in time, even if the players just unite in their hatred for Barton. Iâm disagreeing with Eamon and whoever else thinks the players didnât work hard. Mackie chased down everything belying the fact that he had not started a match since January. Inspired by him, the team did hassle and harry and on a number of occasion won the ball back in the Blackburn half. From where I was sat at the back of W block, the real issue was a lack of movement up front when we had the ball in attacking positions. Faurlin would be desperately looking for a runner or someone moving into space, but there wouldnât be anyone. He would then resort to an unlikely pass which would get picked off, or a high ball into the box on the off chance that Helguson could beat Samba in the air. The only player who seemed to provide that was dear old Tommy Smith after he came on â bring him on earlier next time Neil. As for those who want us to sign a new goal scorer, what is he expected to get on the end of?
Northolt, my post was not aimed at you in the slightest, I know you are very middle of the road and post everything to do with rangers just so it's up on this board, and I agree with that. My point is just in general as since we all moved on to here, the general air has been distinctly stale, bordering on pretty smelly. I'm just trying to get the point across that once upon a time, every supporter danced to the same tune. Everyone had their favorite player and that might be a different player to your mate, you might have some banter and a laugh about it. But you still loved every player whether they were good, bad or a bit of a dick. As for all the fuss about Barton slagging people and Adel going off in a huff, it just makes me laugh the way some are going mental over it like the sky is falling in. I don't remember anyone back in the 70's calling for Stan Bowles to be sacked because he either turned up pissed or ****ed off to the bookies at half time. None of it mattered because we were QPR and he was our hero. If we'd sacked him because of his behavior after 5 games he'd never have become the legend he is today. Is Warnock good enough for this league?? Who the feck knows, but after what he achieved for us in the last 2 years he deserves a full season, come what may! Is Barton going to come good or feck it all up??? Again who knows, but he's the best player we've ever bought, so shouldn't we all be hoping that it works out, instead of claiming that it's all gone wrong already? Just my opinion, but I try to base it on reality and not on idle gossip.
We've had a 0-6 which speaks for itself, a poor 2nd half v Villa and a poor show against a Blackburn side that are an established PL side even if they are at the bottom. And everyone is now doom and gloom and slagging off various individuals for various reasons. Sh*t happens - it's our turn now! This is the first real test of Warnock's reign and we will now see whether we recover with some decent performances (results will be unlikely in the next 3 games) or crash and burn. We need to be on a point a game by January to be in a position for new signings to give us a chance in the 2nd half of the season. Barton has a big responsibility in the next few games and his leadership qualities as well as those of Warnock will be tested in the extreme, let's hope they are both up to it!
