    There are still possibilities of getting him back. He is still on a 1 year loan deal from AC Milan, at Dinamo Kiev.

    QPR man Barton told to ‘calm down or spend the season in the stands’

    Joey Barton has been warned that his aggressive playing style could land him in hot water during his loan at French club Marseille.
    ..
    The controversial QPR midfielder made headlines this week after a hot-headed display in a friendly match against Ligue 2 side Istres.

    Istres coach Jose Pasqualetti has urged him to tone down his battling instincts to be a success in France.

    He told L’Equipe: “He is a fiery character and he can crack up.

    “He is going to have big trouble with referees.

    “If he doesn’t calm down, he will spend the whole of the season in the stands.”

    Marseille chairman Vincent Labrune responded by saying he has ‘no fears’ over Barton.

    “He is a very good player and you will see that he actually made fewer tackles than many people would have expected,” he said.
