Joey Barton Punched Outside Liverpool Nightclub

I'm really hoping this is true. The more situations he gets into the harder he gets to defend (and some you know its not even worth trying). I will always have a soft spot for him after what he did for us, and the way he put his heart into the place. Wish he could just switch off the knob knob.

 

I like Joey, he's a good player and he did a good job for us when he was here. He can be his own worst enemy of course with his off the field antics, however I think there's just too many people waiting to have a pop at him at any opportunity. The guy shouldn't have to lock himself up in his room when he's not playing.

The fact that this same message is on every teams board on not606 show's just how much in the public eye he is. A bit like being in a goldfish bowl.

Some of it was self inflicted, but everyone deserves a chance (and yes once you've served your penalty a third, fourth and fifth chance). He paid his dues for the things he did wrong, and if people don't agree that he has then they should be complaining about the system not the person. Once he served his time he should have been allowed to get on with his life. He hasn't helped himself at times, but then its also fair to say that some of the things he has been slated for would hardly have registered any interest at all if they had involved anyone else but Joey.
