Joey Barton offers us more than Granero, always, very true. More than Taarabt? Yes, because he's at Fulham. Is Barton a better player than Taarabt? Never in a million years.
He wants to go to Marseille but they can't afford him. West Ham are his likeliest way back to the PL, I expect they'll move for him at the last minute...
I presume Roller just assumed that anyone with a minimal amount of football knowledge would know Barton's history.
how can you compare barton to adel, when barton is playing in a different division from last year, if adel was playing in this side in this division, would he offer more than barton?
No offence husky but perhaps a quick google of Mr. Barton may well be in order if you don't know his criminal history.
Not necessarily the right place to post this, but I have only just read Warnock's book whilst roasting on a sunbed, getting ever more bored and thinking what else the ten grand I've blown on this fortnight could've been more usefully spent on. Still, the current Mrs Ãber gets to brown up and make Facebook friends with more Northern fat women, so I guess she's happy. Anyway, whilst there's no denying Warnock's appreciation of Taantrum's precocious talent, it seems clear to me that it was a unique set of circumstances that got the Rs promoted last time, and not one likely to be repeated. Reading the book dispelled any remnants of belief that Taantrum loved the Rs. Whilst the book is just one side of the story, i.e. Warnock's, if but half is true, then Old Neil had his hands full on an almost daily basis not only keeping track of what the Moroccan wretch was doing, where he was and what frame of mind he was in, but also cajoling the old pros such as Hill and Derry into making substantial allowances for the lad. Sure, you don't need to tell me that he was the Championship player of the year, that he offered up a number of match-winning performances etc. etc. etc. But, as I said above, it was a unique set of circumstances, and impossible to repeat once in the Premier League. It does not surprise me in the least that Redknapp refused to play the same game as Warnock. Neither does it surprise me that Taantrum wanted away from the Rs at every possible opportunity. Neither does it surprise me that it was little Fulham that took him on and not a bigger club. The big clubs will have already concluded that Taantrum is too much of a liability and certainly not the big star deserving of centre stage. This is either a master stroke by Martin Jol, or it will blow up in his face. It might even cost him his job. But it really is time to move on and cheer the guys we do have, not lament the petulant manchild that got his wish to move on. Go support Fulham, Nottingham Forest or Newcastle if you miss Taantrum, Mackie or Remy.
The bottom line is from the moment we were promoted Adel wanted out, bad-mouthed his teammates and generally thought he was above everyone at our club. He doesn't give a f*ck about the Rs and will go wherever he thinks he'll be indulged. He might even play the odd blinder for Fulham but it'll all end in tears. I think it was Eamon on here a couple of years ago who likened him to a 12 year old boy who never grew up and that is his downfall, too immature to realise that he's blessed with a unique talent but needs to give as well as take...
uber hoop that's what I said about adel, if he was that good, why was there not bigger fish to take him up. how long before adel and berbatov have a bust up, glad we got him on loan not on a perm move
Fair point. But as that was the issue then why wasn't it just brought up in the post? Like I said, I answered the original post and asked a question in response. It would have been simple to respond accordingly.
The Berbatov/Adel relationship is something I'm looking forward to seeing unfold! Could be like watching a car crash in slow mo!
Bloody hell uber.....10 grand!! I'd want gold plated cutlery for that! Your post is all fair comment, however, I don't really care about any of the tantrums, hard work caused etc etc. Me and my sons have fantastic memories of a footballing genius and that's all I care about. He entertained me more than anyone will this season that's for sure! True enough though......time to move on. Can't quite believe we are still getting Taarabt threads and he's not even here anymore!
..... ffs.....that was a long time ago....his brother died....he did his time.........why dont we just stone him to death on shepherds bush green...Great... And i really am sick of this " I dont want him playing for my club bollox".....shut up roller...Please.....It's not your club....It,s TF's and Rednapp's club and they are happy with him....
