What he says is right. The ones calling for a taxi for him should shut the f*kk up!

I can't fault his effort on the pitch, he often seems to be doing the work of a whole midfield so I'm not surprised some of his passing isn't good, and that he holds off tackling but tries to shepherd players to less dangerous positions is the smart and usually the safest and best option. His corner for Clint's first PL goal was spot on too, but I agree Buz should be taking more dead balls if he's playing. I'd perfer Cllint as captain too, but taking that away from Barton now probably ain't worth he aggro!

Wasn't his best over the whole 90mins from Joey, however the guy does put a shift in every week and his mistake with klasnic i'll put down to covering for others and being knacker on account of it.

Just needs to make a couple of good tackles and motivate the other 10 to up their game. I'm sure he can do it. :emoticon-0147-emo:

Come on you R'sss

It would be even more funny if we all saw things the same - as though QPR fans could be thousands of people with one collective brain! Thanks christ we're not!

I for one am not calling for a taxi for Barton. He has already cost us quite enough thank you. I do know that the 283 buss passes right outside HQ and I would be happy to direct him to it along once he has collected his P45.

Bartons performances have divided our fans from top to bottom. The problem for me is twofold:
One, He is deffo not the player he was several years ago. He was a tough tackling midfielder who inspired those around him to put in the same effort. He was also very economical with the ball and his range of passing was impressive. HIs tackling seems to have gone out of his game and he simply gives the ball away far too much. I will say that he puts in a shift. No doubt about that. But Mackie also runs around like a headless chicken and puts in "a shift". Running 10 Km is simply not good enough in the Prem. Therefore he is not playing like he has in the past which simply means that he is under-performing for us or that he is past his best. Which is it?

Two, His off-field antics drive a lot of people to despair. I know some think that he should be allowed to express his opinions whatever way he wants, but for me, because he is a club employee and our captain he should lead by example both on and off the pitch. That's my biggest problem with Barton, he talks the talk but does not walk the walk. In my eyes, he is no captain. He should be banned from twitter.

Oslo very strange post. I hope you not a football coach. Bit of a nothing statement that you can’t prove or disprove but is subconsciously imagined to support your own beliefs.

I can’t think of one central midfielder who has ever been noted for shepherding players in too ‘less dangerous’ areas of the pitch!! Very strange.
Maybe what you mean was Barton runs around a lot but his contribution in terms of passing, tackling and winning headers has been well below his own standards of previous seasons.

If Barton does read this thread, I agree with Scotland that a good start for the remedy’s he is looking for would be to get him off set pieces.

Poor old Joey he really has lost it ... so many chances and tonight he meets Gerrard if there ever was a time or stage ... Will he at last take it? This will be the complete football barometer for us tonight as he needs to win the midfield and I would make him sit, watch then react. otherwise we will face another 6 mile ball watching run from our Captain which will be of no use to us at all... apart from the fact he will be able to get his mug in the papers staring roll eyed at the heavens ... If this happens then he deserves capital punishment for the mild suggestion that he is a football worthy of this great club.

Well I don't like Barton personally, because I see him as a back stabbing b*stard. Reckon MH should have replaced him and Ale for the rest of this season in the January window. But he didn't. I'm only commenting on what I see him doing on the pitch, which for me is usually among the best performances from our players. As I don't like the guy I don't see that saying he does OK on the pitch is from my subconscious bias - but perhaps you have some "strange" issues clouding your view Mr Damage?<confused> No, I'm no Coach - but from the amount of playing time NW and MH have given him, it seems like they agree with me!

I don't care much about what Barton did before he joined us - opposition players never interest me too much. He certainly never stood out for me for his brilliant football skills, and he still doesn't! But I think he's putting in a shift, and he's the best defensive midfield player we have now. So get behind him! ComeonYouRRRssssss!

Just leaving for the match. Fully expect to see JB as captain again but have no logic to explain this phenomenon. Is this existentialism? Have I been transported to an alternative reality where the objective of the game is to lose? Is there a faulty link in the Internet feed to Oslo that makes Joey look like a footballer? I need a drink.

Oslo my subconscius comment was directly refering to your "shepherd players to less dangerous positions" comment.

Already been much discussed on this board whether MH and Warnocks decisions to sign and stick with likes of Barton and SWP is a good thing so I am not too convinced that it is a good thing they seem to share your opinions.

In fairness to Barton I think he is unfairly restrained by referees particularaly when playing away from home because any foul he makes when going to ground is an automatic yellow.

I will put my views about Barton aside as always when at tonights game and cheer him /Rangers on as always. U RRRRRRRRRRR’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
