...he had 84 old First Divison games for Norwich, and 34 for Coventry. He had over 100 top flight games before he signed for Newcastle. He was a vastly more experienced player than Joelinton, players had far more games under their belts at 22 than 22 year olds now. And fyi, he had a better goalscoring record for Norwich than Newcastle. More goals less games.
Like I say he wasn't the finished article as claimed.. I know what we sighed because everyone was complaining about it... 22 years old 30 prem games is not the finished article.. His finishing was criticised early on at nufc.. It got better and that's a fact
By in large the general fans are ****ing retards, they know absolutely **** all. Check the facebook page, I'm sorry to say the Geordies are some of the worst you'll find. As a Welshman Bellamy was ****ing class.
Yes he was Im older than you btw I know what I'm saying here... He got better.. The argument was that he was the finished article.. Im telling you he was not..
I can tell youre older, your memory has failed you every post in this thread. He played way more games than you said and scored more goals. All Bobby did was play him in the same place he played at Norwich. He played the same way his entire career after that. Youre nitpicking and saying he slightly improved in finishing, but on this one I think its classier to say "****, didnt realise. Wrong on this one."
He did miss a lot of one on ones here, and liked being offside as much as Cisse. His finishing was definitely better at other clubs. Was still very good for us like
He missed a lot of one on ones everywhere. His last spells at Liverpool and Cardiff he missed them all the time. I think his best spell as a player, perhaps controversial, was his time at City. He was brilliant there. Obviously fell out with Mancini tho.
With greatest of respect the thing I questioned was him being the finished article when nufc signed him at 22 having played around 30 prem games.. He peaked well after that.. For the record I chased him up Northumberland street to sign a pair of shorts I bought...
I didn't reply to you mate. I can tell when you're gonna nitpick over the fine details, i cba with that tedious ****
No he wasn't as he was attracting significant interest from big clubs, he'd had a full season in the Prem with Coventry, and 5 years playing regularly before that, and was a regular full international when we signed him. You can't just say he was a find by Bobby when he was widely regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in the country. Bobby used him perfectly, but didn't discover him.
This entire discussion stems from the absurd idea that Bellamy was just a rough a diamond as Joelinton. Thats patently nonsense
Does that make him the finished article? that's what I questioned mate Usually players get better and he did
Just dawning on me how retarded this discussion is, he's been retired for years. Yes Dorty, Bobby knew exactly where to slot him, he was much more polished and experienced than Joe. Yes Chaos, his finishing got better. Joelinton is **** - might get better. Will never be a Bellamy tho.
