Prison, for drink driving?
my thoughts too. It won’t be prison unless he hit someone and it was bad.

he’ll get a 12 month ban.

a reminder that you can get 6 month bans for speeding.
I think it's meant to be an automatic prison sentence if you're a certain amount over the limit now, regardless of whether you hit someone or not. It's always been an option, and does happen, if the courts decide it was serious enough.

Most people crying their eyes out about this will have driven to work the next day way over this amount and not even realised it .

That’s important context. Makes much more sense why Eddie didn’t drop him - my reaction was too kneejerk. IEWT

I reckon I’ve been over twice in my life. Both times morning after, and didn’t realise until too late. Not an excuse and I’m more careful now, but it’s easily done.

It mentions his breath of he had asked for a blood test and ran on the spot while he waited he might have got away with it

3 micrograms over the charging limit of 40, big fine because of his wages, as far as club action goes, I think he should do community work and be fined 2 weeks wages, I don't think he should be dropped from the team though.

That's harsh really. He was hardly drunk, he had 2 glasses of wine, and was slightly over the limit.

Not a big deal, just an oversight.

I actually know someone who got ran over and and driver was completely sobre. Imagine how he feels knowing that.

**** off is that an oversight.
He has 2 drinks somewhere (according to him) then drive home straight away.

Go look up how many people die or seriously maimed by drunk drivers.

Hardly crime of the century but still a crime. I used, at 16, drink about 4 or 5 pints in a pub (we knew the owner and had to drink upstairs) and then hop on my moped to college. I felt fine <laugh>

He was over the limit though.

He wasn't smashed and he didn't knowingly drive over the limit, but the limit is there for a reason and he was over it. He's been rightfully punished but it's over and done with now, barring any club punishment.
