Carried off after a strong tackle in the U23 game against Liverpool today. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

At least Lynden Gooch made his comeback. The match finished 0-0.

I can't remember a season like this with so many major injuries.

Thing is you can almost accept the injuries from a strong tackle etc in terms of an 'impact' injury, as that's part and parcel of the game.

Issue for me is the amount that aren't, which is our issue.

How many of ours aren't? Cattermole and Kirchhoff who are both injury prone. The rest (or majority of them) have been impact njuries. (Acl, mcl etc)

Off the top of my head I only think Anichebe and this one are what I'd class as an impact injury, I.e. Going in for a 50/50 for example. Gooch possibly as well.

McNair, Jan, Catts, Watmore, Pienaar, Pickford amongst others were all the opposite iirc. They were all injured in isolation.

Pickford was injured at Man Utd on boxing day, by one of our own players, I think.

Watmore was injured against Leicester after a challenge from Fuchs.

He was never realistically going to break the first team this season anyway. Hope the lay off is short, not for our survival chances but for his own development.

??
He already has.
He made his debut as a sub against Boro and started against Shrewsbury and QPR in the league cup.

As you say - let's hope he makes a quick recovery. <cheers>

I don't need reminding of when he's played. I follow the kids more than most on here.

We clearly have different definition of breaking the first team. I would class this season as the season Watmore broke the first team, making starts and contributing regularly. He made his debut the season before. Just different definitions that's all. Asoro hasn't even played 45 minutes for the first team in the league and his cup appearances were early rounds. I don't call that breaking the first team, I call that featuring. Asoro has featured this season, nowhere near broke the team. Just my opinion.

think I may have misunderstood your original post as a dig at training regimes etc. Sorry fella. Pickford was injured colliding with Kone. Watmore git his studs caught in the turf at a 50/50. Thought you meant they were all avoidable with different training regimes etc!!!

The very same Bri & if Paddy does go he'll be the only LB at the club.
I hope I don't offend you if ya know the lad, but from what I've seen of him so far, if he's our left back next season then we are struggling. I personally don't think he'll play at that high of a level, but at the same time these young lads can come on leaps and bounds with a few first team games.
