it is time City really started to prepare for the Prem! We have 3 players whom we all believe are top dollar so why sell for maybe a combined total of £30m? only to have to pay out 50 to £60m to replace them in a couple of years time! Aden is contracted for a couple more seasons, so Bobby and Joe should be tied in with a enhanced contract before this season ends, simple really just write in a loyalty bonus for fulfilling to end of contract, have a addittioonal 1 year clause and automatic pay increase for playing in the Prem! the other players will have a target to aim at knowing what they can achieve at City. what do you think they are currently on per week? how much do you think they should be on with a new contract...?
It's not as easy as that JGF a) all players want to play at the highest level it wouldn't be fair to stop them. b) other future targets would possibly be put off coming here if we try to stop present ones moving on to better things , actually conversely seeing us improving players and allowing them to move to better things is likely to encourage up and coming players to want to come to us. c) Paying prem wages whilst in the championship is a recipe for disaster and not a route SL will go down .
no point made about paying prem wages in EFL NOT STOPPING THEM FROM MOVING ON...simply ensuring we get paid when they do other targets? well should they wish to come nothing has changed they negotiate a fee and wages contract length same as now!
Now Spurs reportedly join the chase, that makes 4. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/...fer-news-joe-bryan-1118342?service=responsive
That's some attention to be courting - delighted for the lad and indicative of how fantastic he's been this season, but hope he doesn't leave. We might need promotion to even get him to the negotiating table.
Would love Joe to stay but can’t really complain if one of the big clubs of the Prem come knocking. Just hope we get a good figure if Pleat says higher value than Shaw and maybe a loan back option.
