Ahhh, so you've been watching all Liverpool's games, preseason games and Europa league games... that's the spirit lad... beats watching some silly little Welsh team doesn't it.

... if you took your own advice I fear you'd never speak except when taking a poop.

Great post, from a clear fan of football trying to avoid any bias. Well said.

Brendan Rodgers on Joe Allen: "He's five feet six but in terms of a footballer he's seven feet six. He's absolutely immense."

    Sums him up nicely <ok>

Cheers Skylarker. And stick by everything I said; still in touch with Joe (know him through his GF Lacey), and was blown away by Brendan's enthusiasm for all things football every time I met him. Brendan and Swansea were a perfect fit but any suggestion that he left us for financial reasons are laughable; from day one he said that he hoped to manage a team at the highest level and, when he was linked to Liverpool, it was only a matter of time before he left - both his Father and Grandfather were LFC fans and his childhood was coloured by all things Anfield! Am I sad that he left us? Yes! Do I hate him for leaving us? Absolutely no!

Management is a career and I would be very sceptical of anyone who stated that they would turn down their 'dream job' through some misguided idea of 'loyalty' - I would leave my current job tomorrow if a better offer came in!

As for Joey - you aint seen the best of him yet - he was good today, but he will get better! He was a star for Swansea and I believe he will be bigger star for you - his best years are still ahead of him, so look after him and he will pay you back a thousandfold! (is that a word?!!) <cheers>

I think you posted in the wrong thread... Terrorwit is Australian not American. Best of my knowledge there are no Americans posting on this thread.

  11. I think the OP is probably referring to the WUMs rather than the honest sensible Swansea posters <ok>

He's a very good player, but no, he wasn't the best player in our side. I'd have been more worried about losing Vorm, Ash Williams or Nathan Dyer TBH.

You'll get your money's worth out of him though. He's a smart, level headed kid and very well suited to the type of game Rodgers will want to play.

He's the cheap bench player for my fantasy team, so he'll have a terrible season I'm afraid. My luck.

Allen is fitting in like he's been here all his career.

So you would choose a 28/29 year old finished article for a few more years, ahead of a young top class player who can only get better for 10 years plus?

Britton plays a much more defensive role for us and like most Swans fans I think he would have been the bigger loss to us than Allen.

Joe is an awesome player and will soon be a fans favorite.

Zingy Britton is more valuable to our side, he is the guy that controls things, Allen fades in and out of games, regardless of his age Britton is a better option for us and is irreplaceable.
