Everton !

Bit before my time!

Just looked it up and Everton had one more title than Arsenal <grr>

On all those points... I'd take Allen easy for £10-12M, and I think that's a realistic price.

I think everyone can see he has talent, I fully expect he could step up another level, unlike Charlie Adam or Downing, who signed with waves of concern.

If Rodgers is sacked, I imagine our owners will look to sign someone with a similar style (like that Laundrup bloke eh?).

And at Liverpool, we've played passing football for a long, long time. BR will be tweaking it here and there.

but you must admit BR continued the legacy did he not, br just did not have a plan b

Of course he continued it. But would he have had the same success if we hadn't been??!! In all fairness, Bobby managed to develop it from scratch quite quickly, albeit it in league 1. I wonder if Brendan would have managed it to the same degree too!!

But on the thread topic of Joe. Hope he at least uses his head & really gives some serious consideration to what's best for his future, if indeed there are any real foundation to the rumours of an exit & at least give some time to the club that has nurtured him, so Laudrup can have a chance to show him what he feels he can achieve & the best way for Joey to fulfill that, is staying with our great club....

Let's be honest to say you've played at your boyhood team with the great Michael Laudrup as your manager has got to be a great draw. Hopefully he's got a sensible head on his shoulders.

If Joe wanted out, I'd sell at the right price. If Joe wanted to stay, I'd reject any offer unless it was stupid money. He's worth more to this club.

I also value long term players more than cash , up until they themselves want to try their luck with another club , then it's " show me the money "

Totally agree Breezey. If Joey shows any inclin that he wants away, I want Huw to screw every last penny out of the pursuer. Until then, he's not for sale at any price.... <ok>

just the wrong players doing it then rev?

Years of miss-management at board level from men like Rick Parry and the hopeless Texan Hicks and his pal Gilette.

United are success now because they sorted themselves out, making massive profits and investing in their team. We didn't and we fell far behind.

Rick Parry decided not to up our bid for Dani Alves by £2M to £10M... Barca got him.

Rafa wanted Simao... Parry got him Pennant.

You're lucky to have HJ, who seems to be on board with the club's ambition... bit like Levy at Spurs.

Gillette seemed a good fit but when he needed some other financial help & took Hicks in ..... it was all down hill . I believe Gillette & his son had the best intentions at first but were burdened with Hicks as time went on .

That was the impression, Gilette at least took a background role. There was a rumour that Hicks refused to sell him majority control, also.

We're still recovering from what they did to us. People blame Rafa, or Torres or Carroll... It was them.

Hicks would have never got a sniff , if not for Gillette , NI .... And if Gillette could have gone it alone he would have , as he was the guy with the original interest . Hick's f#cked everything up for Gillette , Hicks was a bad choice for back up investor & Gillette knew it quite quickly , they were indifferent toward each other from the get go .
