FFS get up to date lads, I told you weeks ago about little joe expressing his wish to join liverpool, old news and just waiting for an official approach thats all. Mr Laudrup is just clearing the way that some players may move to pastures new.....wait for the one about ash that will be tabled very soon also......it happens im afraid, some players move on and some join....its not a problem.....Thats how football opparates

Dai, glad you said that, now we all know Joe wont be going anywhere, same with Ash :)

10 million & Allen wants to go , let him go . I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Agustien , Britton & De Guzman working that extra space Dyer & Sinclar earn them . 10 million is 10 million & he's earned the right to go if he so desires . I don't see more money for Laudrup as a bad thing , him and his sidekick been together quite a while & know the route to land players .

i hope he dont go but the feeling at the liberty is if rodgers wants him he will be off,,,,,why not we know he wants to join rodgers at liverpool ages ago and has been quoted as saying he will put in a transfer request if he has to...... I hope that the appointment of Mr laudrup will give him food for thought...But if they are willing to pay £10 million then thats good money....

I think the good thing for us is that Liverpool can't bid for Allen unless another team bids first. So if no other teams bids then we should be ale to hang on to him. But if he does end up going it would be better that he left now rather than just before the season starts, as we'll have more time to find a replacement. Will be lots of rumours this summer though.

Regarding what ML said, it seems that he sais every player has his price for a reason - to get the fans ready for players moving on. I know it is stating the obvious but there was no need to say it. The big clubs can always offer what is a good price to us, so that means it's easy for them to get our players. Just like it's easier for us to get players from lower leagues.

the quote is not public just what he has mentioned to someone i know who is a coach at swansea weeks ago....every man and his dog knows his desire to play for liverpool at the liberty, It dont mean for one minute it will happen as it depends on many factors such as....
Do rodgers actually want him.
does joe now want to go if he gets the chance now we have Mr Laudrup.
does jinks and the board think that if £10 million is offererd is it silly to turn down.
do they think its not enough,
has anyone else enquired about him.
There are many factors with joe but if he is adamant that he wants to go and the price is right then there is no point keeping him if he dont want to be here....It can only be for money anyway....I hope he stays but it would only be if he makes that choice himself and is commited to the team,...if not then ship out gentlemans agreement or not....

I don't think what you heard from someone else counts as "has been quoted as saying he will put in a transfer request if he has to".

But we'll see what develops. Maybe nothing will happen until the Olympics are over.

Do all footballers see Brendan Rodgers as some sort of father-figure? They seem to like following him around.

There's still talk of this 'gentleman's agreement' and we can disagree on its legal weight. I actually think it's more formal than most people think but there you go. But even if I'm wrong, it's been publicly stated that Liverpool have agreed (even if informally) that they won't come in for our players for a year unless another club bids. Now unless I'm mistaken, as yet that hasn't happened.

If Rodgers was to come in for our players in breach of said agreement - even if informal - his word and the club he represents wouldn't be worth ****. So unless another club bids for Allen he's staying put.

Goes to show what 1 great player , nurtured locally , can mean . If Allen goes to Liverpool for 10 million , he'll have probably payed his own wages since he started receiving wages from the team .... with enough left over to build an academy .......... if that's not reason to start building an academy , I don't know what is

We have to have a certain percentage of home grown players in our squad, according to the rules, now as it stands we are looking pretty thin on the ground as regards Welsh players, so why would we sell the few we have, even if they are that good? The way I see it, Joe Allen and any other Welsh players will be held onto for dear life, until such time as other young Welsh players come through the ranks, and I for one can see Huw Jenkins doing a number on any poaching club, be it Liverpool or otherwise, as he did with the 'Bodde Snatchers' Derby County, and Bolton.

As for Dai, and Casual fanny, they are talking rubbish, with regards to Dai, I understand where he comes from, but Casual Fanny is just a poor Kairdiff wum, that comes on here with his simplistic headline wum's, guy needs treatment!................
<ok>

You two are way too sensitive. Go post elsewhere if you don't like the thread. Or just set your profile to ignore me. Simple. I can show you how to set the ignore button if you don't know.

Your entertainment value is far too high at the moment casual, you clearly have overdone the negative headlines, and thus exposed yourself! Nice try though.......... <laugh>

Joe Allen was obviously huge for you last season, I live with a Swansea fan and I've become a bit of a closet fan myself so we watched a lot of games, but I think for 10m you surely have to let him go? Laudrup knows a lot of players across Europe, I'm sure he could bring in someone at least as good for around 5m! That leaves you with extra funds to bring in another striker which is the only thing I think you really need now
