Who would have thought a few years ago that we would seriously be looking to pick points up off a club as massive as liverpool, and that they would want our players and manager at thier club ? it shows huge respect to us as a club on how far we have come, and the quality we have gained here on a shoestring budget over the seasons. If a few others follow our model it may lead to a big shift in the way the british game is evolving. Hopefully we can continue to bring in new very talented players and youth academy lads schooled in our style of play as quickly as our top players get bought off by the big clubs.
If we keep on surviving in the prem then the extra mega bucks in our boards capable hands could eventually lead to us being a force to be reconed with in the prem and possibly beyond ! So until the facts show otherwise why shouldn`t we think big and want great things for our club as its a funny old game after all. :emoticon-0165-muscl

Right let's get real here one of Liverpool's signings cost nearly as much as combine price of our stadium and squad. We are NOT competing with them. We will definitely not finish higher than them. We are in a relegation battle no doubt. But that is to be expected considering out outlay and relative size of club. Most level headed swans fans with a bit of knowledge and understanding of the game understand this. What I'm intrigued by is why Liverpool fans feel the need to come on here and tell us how much we are going to struggle. You have already stolen our manager, assistant, some backroomers and now potentially one of our best players. What more do you want? Why are you letting what some of our more dillusional fan think about out expectations concern you. Surely you should be concentrating more on teams you are supposed to be competing with. Our is this a signal of your expectations?

good post and i definately agree that some on here are expecting a lot this season, as a realist i will be over the moon just to survive this season, Liverpool are a massive club that has fallen short of their potential for years but any serious betting man would put his money on liverpool being in the premiership next season than the swans. Its going to be a very exciting season for both clubs for different reasons, for us its all about survival and for liverpool its about getting back to where they were over a decade or more ago and getting into a european spot.....both teams have a tough task but also both have the capability to achieve their goal and anything better will be a bonus....good luck i say to the both of us this season and we will welcome liverpool to the liberty with antisapation and freindlyness...

I'm really tempted to ask how many times the mighty Liverpool scored against us last season, but I better not in case it makes me bitter !!

I did google it but it gave me 0 search results !

That's quite unfair. Only pointing out the stats. I hope for Liverpool's sake that you've now bottomed out.

It looks like we have in fairness. We deserved another 15/20 points or so last season... Obviously poor finishing isn't an excuse but our bad luck was ridiculous. If you remember Swansea at Anfield for instance, with the chances we had we should have won comfortably. Never seen a season like the one we just had. Like our strikers were practising on top on an Indian burial ground or something.

I know it's banter... but a lot of you do seem a bit bitter about Rodgers leaving... and before you bite my head off, I know you've got a good replacement.

Try goggling how many times have Swansea won the European cup<ok>

Disappointed, maybe, but not bitter. Personally, I've no axe to grind with Liverpool, Rodgers or Allen.

I find it hard to understand how one of your posters can come on our board and say Liverpool are 'on the up' when all the evidence shows the opposite. Perhaps he perceives Liverpool will be on the up during the coming season now you have Brendan and some new signings. We can discuss that in May 2013. It's hard to believe you can do any worse than last season.
